This initiative deserves praise and encouragement. We should not forget that the support we give to the political prisoners of today determines whether others will be willing to confront the dictators in the future. If we fail to support those now jailed and tortured by woyanes, we are declaring that we do not deserve having visionary leaders who are willing to risk their neck for our freedom.

Not long ago, we were filling large meeting rooms to listen to Birtukan and we were pushing and shoving to get our pictures taken with her. It is sad we do not display the same eagerness to participate in activities aimed at securing the freedom of this very brave, loving and humble leader. Our affection and admiration of Birtukan should have increased significantly because of the brave and principled action she has taken since. She went back to the horrible woyane prison alone because she is solid on her principle and determination to fight for justice. Our support to our leaders and their family needs to be solid and not fickle. If we value justice and our own freedom, we must support our leaders through thick and thin.

We love you and respect you Burte!

Those of you who took this initiative deserve my admiration. It is not just admiration but I am willing to give you my support. Birtukan is one but she is an example for millions of us. I think Birtukan is a way to bring Ethiopians together let us circle around her stand together. I do not need to list out here what she has done to confront the dictator Meles in the past 6 Years. That is why he incarcerates her in a single 2 X 2 meter room alone for the last 5 month. Let us stand together and fight for all political prisoners till Ethiopia become free from Meles and his friends.
