An Ethiopian community has gathered to celebrate the anniversary of its first church in Wales.

A service at St Peter’s Roman Catholic church in Roath, Cardiff, marked the building as a holy place of worship for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

The Metmiqe Melekot Kidus Yohannes church was set up a year ago for the capital’s growing number of Ethiopians.

Priest Malake Fion Habte Marian said people from the wider community were welcome to join in the celebrations.

Around 100 people took part in the celebrations.

The service was conducted in Ahmaric, Ge’ez and English and as part of the service the priest dedicated a special prayer blessing Wales and the church on its first birthday.

Malake Fion Habte Marian, an angel of Zion, said: “We are glad we can establish a church in Wales.

“We welcome people from the wider community to come and celebrate with us,” he said.

The service was to be followed by a reception where traditional Ethiopian food will be served.

The celebration marked the Ethiopian church’s first year in Wales

It was good to see many Ethiopians, Eritreans, British people and other Europeans coming together to the festival. It was very wise of the organisers to have invited the wider comminty to show an Ethiopian heritage. The local people were moved by the service and it was a very good experience for many. Many were happy when they knew that the replica of the arch of the convenent was there for the first time in Wales and they were part of history. I understand the organisers had done their level best and should be congartulated. We hope to see such a service at least once a year.

HARDLY I may live without flag just our fathers did with the Italian occupation but NO without country. The country has been stolen by Tigray (Humera, Wilgayit, Tsegede)and sold to the Sudan and the Arabs.

My Hebrew Bible said : “You are my Witnesses says the LORD. And my servant whom I have choosen. That you may know and believe Me And understand that I AM HE, Before me there was no GOD formed Nor shall there be after me. (Isaiah 43: 10)

WHERE JESUS SAID I AM GOD AND WORSHIP ME ?????? For any one who answer this question I will reward $1,000.00 (one thousand US dollars)

Please don’t waste my time by giving seemingly true but false answer such as Jesus’ saying ” I and the Father are one” because when Jesus said this, he was trying to explain that he WAS ONE WITH GOD IN PURPOSE” not in being one entity. In other word, A christian priest, Deacon, or Pathriarch may say “WE ARE ONE” meaning oneness in “purpose”.
