It is with pride and happiness we introduce to the Ethiopian knowledge, research, quality training and higher education world the new on line and open Ethiopian electronic Journal on Research and Innovation Foresight (Ee-JRIF). Thanks to all the authors and the reviewers from home and from abroad who contributed their scientific work to the new journal, Ee-JRIF.

The publication hopes to fill the gap in knowledge of a broad range of subjects that are critical and significant to the Ethiopian situation, including, but not limited to, agriculture, forestry, ecology, water, infrastructure, development, economy, history, education, health , science and technology.

The journal will be multidisciplinary and not a specialty publication; however, each issue will attempt to focus on a certain specific theme. It will draw upon the expertise of Ethiopians from all over the world to contribute well-researched and evidence-based articles on Ethiopian issues/problems. The journal would attempt to promote and disseminate such articles. It has been stated oftentimes that there is a lack of good source of information concerning Ethiopia that is evidence-based, critical and objective. Spurious literature from authors far removed from first-hand knowledge, or with ulterior motives abounds in the wide jungle of information on Ethiopia, both in the electronic and print media. Ee-JRIF will solicit articles that rectify these deficiencies. To maintain a high quality, the journal has lined up notable academicians and scientists who would help select articles and route them to experts for peer review process prior to publication.

We trust that the e- journal will bring Ethiopians around the world to join the global research channels that facilitate bonding, communication and exchange between what exists in the sphere of the abroad and also that of at home for visioning the future with foresight and intelligence.

We hope Ee-JRIF will be an authoritative source for information on the above mentioned issues pertaining to Ethiopia. We encourage experts to share their knowledge in this unique electronic medium. Details on the journal are available at http://www.nesglobal.org .

We would like all the electronic and non-electronic media to make a link to this academic open access e-journal so that both Ethiopians and others come to know about it and be able to use the resources that Ee-JRIF provides.
