Ethiopian American Activists from the Washington DC area confronted the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister, Hailemariam Dessalegn. He had arrived in Washington on Saturday to conduct the usual ethnic-group meetings that Meles rule is so fond of. In his case, he tried to meet mainly with people of the southern ethnic groups a who are Meles supporters (as he himself is from a southern ethnic group). The meeting took place at Gaylord National Harbor on Sunday at 5:00 PM. The meeting with Hailemariam Desalgn was secretly arranged by the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington so that pro-democracy activists would not find out about it and disrupt it. The regime supporters were brought from various states in the US.

Despite the Meles regime’s best effort to keep the location hidden, pro-democracy activists were able to find out the location of the meeting, went to the Gaylord hotel, and exposed Ethiopia’s ruling regime supporters, who were less than 20 in number. The activists outed the dictator supporters to the many American and other guests at Gaylord by confronting them loudly and telling that they are responsible for injustice that is being committed in Ethiopia.
