Applying the techniques of Estimation lead to the conclusion that the Prime Minister of Ethiopia must have died on Sunday, July 2012, in Saint-Luke Hospital, Brussels, Belgium. Waltenegus Dargie

July 20th, 2012 Print Print Email Email

In the fields of probability and stochastic processes, the term reasoning refers to the ability to arrive at a conclusion in the presence of incomplete and, potentially, noisy observation. Noisy observation, in turn, refers to an observation (measurement) in which the fact (truth) is mixed with an uncorrelated and erroneous input that may stem from the source of the observation as well as the channel.

In general, we apply three established techniques to reason about an observation. They are called smoothing, filtering (estimation), and prediction. Which of these techniques are suitable for a given observation depends on whether you want to reason about the past, the present, or the future. If it is about the present, the technique we apply is called filtering (estimation).

If we apply some of the fundamental techniques of smoothing and estimation to reason about the Prime Minster of Ethiopia, we will conclude with reasonable confidence that he was pronounced dead on Sunday, July 15, 2012 or even before that. The most probable time, however, is Sunday, July 15, 2012, between 4:00 and 5:00 AM. Likewise, the location of his death would be Saint-Luc Hospital in Brussels, Belgium.

Some of the facts pertaining to the observations I used in my analysis are summarised as follows:

1.The sources which delivered the news regarding the illness of the Prime Minster and the hospital in which he received treatment proved themselves remarkably reliable. Hence, they should also be given some credibility when we consider their assertion concerning the type of his illness, which is blood cancer.

2.None of these sources were official sources or sources close to any government (Belgium, Ethiopia, US, British, etc.). In probability and stochastic reasoning, this truth has a significant value.

3.The government of Ethiopia has so far refused to reveal the type of illness as well as the place where the Prime Minster is allegedly receiving treatment. Apparently, one of the reasons for this is to hinder reasoning; in the presence of this knowledge, one can very easily draw a conclusion.

4.In fact, no one claims knowledge of the whereabouts of the Prime Minster.

5.The morning of July 15, 2015 (Sunday) is the richest day in the generation of the observations.

6.The government of Ethiopia is unable to deliver a proof about the existence of the Prime Minster.

7.The Wife of the Prime Minster returned to Ethiopia over the weekend (without her husband). Unless his recovery or death was irrefutably convincing to her, it is beyond human reasoning that she would be strong enough to leave him in uncertain condition and be swayed to return to Ethiopia. Looking into the past, his recovery could not have appeared to her certain. Hence, the reasonable assumption is that she was convinced of his death.

8.The video footage showing the confrontation of journalist Abebe Gellaw with the PM on May 18, 2012, at a Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., visibly shows that the PM experienced an untimely intense internal pain and was struggling to moderate his breathe. A close scrutiny of this evidence is revealing. To begin with, even though the Prime Minster received the pain unexpectedly, he did not appear to be altogether surprised by it. People who suffer from a sudden attack (for example, a cardiovascular attack), will usually be unable to temporarily control their breathing, gaze, and gesture. The Prime Minister, on the other hand, took time to nurse the pain and to regulate his inhalation. From this, one can assume that the Prime Minster was suffering a prolonged pain which could easily be aggravated by an emotional stimulus or as sudden release of body chemical.

9.The relationship between (3) and (9) leads us to another irresistible proposition, namely, the Prime Minster could have been suffering from a gastric tumour called adenocarcinomas (in other words, stomach cancer), possibly, level 3 (5 or more than 5 invaded lymph nodes in the resected specimen).

I assigned to the above propositions some conditional probabilities and employed a Bayesian Network to compute the Likelihood of the death of the Prime Minster. Even by the strictest assignment of probabilities, the outcome strongly indicates that it is highly probable that the Prime Minster of Ethiopia died on Sunday, July 15, 2012 between 04:00 and 05:00 AM. In contrast, the collective conditional probability for the propositions: “he is alive”, “he is recovering”, “he has recovered”, and “he hasn’t been ill” was significantly small.

The Diaspora elites speculation previousley of not persuing the fifth term, now speculation about his death has nothing to do with bringing about changes of of the political system now prevailing as ethnic federalism secessionism and totaliarinism built into the constitution.
These ideologies that are the root causes for humanitarian, economic, political and environmental crises is well and alive to this day by the nature of the alignment of the parties and armed factions along ethnic lines. The maintenance of the status quo is well illustrated by images of the TPLF Politbeurro Officials in Ethiomedia that running the country during the abscence of the Prime Minister, however insinificant to anticipated structural and constititional changes of not only restoring press freedom and freedom of speech but also ratify the constitution of ethnic and secessionist politics and /or policies and party alignments along the national agenda competing on their ability of advancing Ethiopia as one nation, one flag and one Official language with other languages, cultures and religions to develop unlimited by resorting first and foremost to the old provincial boundries.

From the start I like to say I am oppostion supporter. However, I dis agree witht the views of this writer.Common sense aproach will tell me that some of his reasonings are out of tune.First he said,”the sources…proved themselves remarkably reliable”On what basis?.Then, he start to put layer after layer statments that led him believe that he is dead.Mr.this to me sounds a fortune telling.Unless you are reling on higly respected confidential information, there is no way I have to believe what is said before me. After all in the begining paragraph you have said you will be attempting to reason and eventually

… “arrive at a conclusion in the presence of incomplete and, potentially, noisy observation.”

If that be your objective analysing of a noisy phenomena can not lead you in to an to absolute certainity of his death.you must have other datas ,that we are not aware of,that might have led you to such conclusion.

Let the new beginning start!!!!!!!!!!

    The Eritrean one!:

The greatest danger to Eritrea is if Dictator Meles dies; those who are say – the 4 gangs per Ethiomedia, take power you are toast. When such groups take power chances are they may want to attack what Meles regarded as enemies. They are not used to “thinking” but only followed the dictator. Eritrea and internal enemies would be such targets. So If I were you and any other opposition in Ethiopia, I will pray he recovers.

The most delighted creatures at his moment are demons.Demons are,of course, invisible and can neither diminish nor expand;they just munch on the host they dewell on.So,Why zinawi is consumed so quickly? Demons do react violently to sound waves, and don’t see object in high intensity light;therefore,a combination of these two simuli would make the host anxious and phobic to amlost anything that the host is subjected to.

Make no mistake, and accept the call that zinawi is tunrned into nothing;not something;just nothing.Well,Azeb Golla can be roaming anywhere in Europe for the reason she planned earlier that she has jumbed into a different life in a different world.Whether she is on shopping spree or swapping bank account, she has reached a conclusion she has to leave zinawi and everything behind and venture out into her different world.

The death of the fascist and racist Meles Zenawi is a serious blow to his ethnic followers and other beneficiaries of his ethnical fascist rule. The fate of the TPLF was totally in the handa of Meles Zenawi and his death may mark the beginning of the vanishing of this fascist and racist organization. I read a lot from the faces of the Tigrayans I meet and they are depressed and worried.

Dawi: as an Eritrean I have no sleepless nights wether the modern sophisticated slave from Adwa departs this earth or not; his leadership in the past 20 years or so had proved nothing but inward: narrow minded, immature, self serving, atheist, ethnicist, puppet, slave of Susan Rice/Frazer/Gale Smith, rude, idiot, stupid, untrustworthy, and ugly. Dawi, if there is/are any groupie that would like to launch a war be it with Eritrea, Sudan, or Somalia then it would the most disasterous for all peace loving people of the horn. In my humble opinion I strongly believe the people of Tigry had been misled, betrayed, and used by the maffia families of Meles and his other maffia families from Eritrea. I hope the departure of the most hated so called leader of Ethiopia brings a must needed new beginning for the people of the horn of Africa rather being an instrument of western world.

It is really interesting analysis about the life and death of PM. It seems really credible based on the what is going on in the ground and previous outlets which inform about the sickness of PM, his being lifted by air, and later on, ETNC stand by its first saying the guy is already dead, and inform that if he existed we would have seen him.

As Issias dissappear for two weeks there is a strong voice both from opposition and also international news out let but in case of Meles even he misses important sessions , we can not see him in tv footage to calm the distress inside his supporters. Meles is power freak, i do not think he will be patient if he is stable to hide from camera. But His wife being in Ethiopia while he is in Brusseles does not make sense. What about her travel to Italy and her attendance the Au meeting. Later on also ethiopian review reported from credible source he died four days ago, and ethiomedia, also commented PM is clinically dead, and so i would like also the author to predict who is gone take the power, based on his good assumption method

For Meles, death is better than a living death of humuilation. Surrounded and escorted by a battalion of Adwan barberic thugs who will soon put in the dust bin of history.Like his kin, Dej. Haile Selassie Gugessa who withdraw the army of Tigryans while others fighting in Maichow against the Italians in 1935,Meles belongs in that catagory. In other words,Meles is ethinically and earthly an Eritrean. I hope Issias Afework in his mercifulness allow him to be buried in abadoned old Italian cemetery not very far from Asmara in exchange for Aiga mountain.

While I am sticking to the above commentary, I further the academic discussion of probability statistics as a measure of the game of chance of occurences of events. To that effect, let us arrange the events with cause for pain and suffering, where the pain can be treated with medication and suffering is in the realm of spritual healing process, I presume or he has minor discomfort or is not seriously ill and is being staged to gadge public sent sentiment nation wide and world wide. In that case the probality of the occurrence of being alive or dead is 50 percent.

If the causes are identified and disclosed by the Government of Ethiopia as the major source for receiving information from the sources in Belgium and other reliable sources are either #8 tranlated into #9 and another cause for pain and suffering happens to be brain tumer, then the probalility of him being alive or dead is the multiplication of factors for the cause of pain which are two major causes both of which are cancerous at two different tagets, perhaps aggravated by the incidenece World Agicutural Food Security Forum or another dimension, to the probability statistics, multiplied by the the three events a) he is dead, b) he is alive, c) he is alive and recovering, which assigns the probality that he is dead, alive and alive and revering to 1/6.

But intrigeuing indicator as you alluded to for the eventual probality of death, however the chance is 1/6 is the return of the Prime Minister’s wife to Ethiopia without him. Had he been under a recovery process she would have stayed with him, or as you put it “unless his recovery or death was irrefutably convincing to her”.

With her return and the appearance of the gang of four of the TPLF Politbeurro in Ethiomedia website they fortifying the status quo of ethnic federalism, secessionism and totaliarinism built int the constitution as main tenet of holding power against the silent majority of Ethiopians, Ethiopian Nationalism, sovereignity of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, where the last item refers to individual freedom, liberty to superced ethnic and secessionist rights, without which there will be no democratic rule, nor a democratitic government, where democracy as a mechanism is a rule by the people of the people and for the people, over the current ethnic rule minority or majority with totaliarinism laced with State Capitalism along with the exploitation of the country’s resources by TPLF and TPLF affiliated enterprises and foreign corporations, leaving the silent majority, yebyi temelkach, to say the leat about individual freedom, free maket capitalism and/or mixed economic model and private ownership of land, and businesses, monopolized by the State.

For sure, zinawi is not attending live music;true.Neither Azeb Golla nor the rest of the robbers are.One can only committ error,if he or she is ignoring relevant evidences;right? okay, brain tumor cells don’t normally respond to stimuli.Isn’t this the evidence? Look, brain cells don’t respond to musical tones, that means, the right brain is deffective. This is also to say that the left brain can not in anyway communicate with the right one;the network of the brain is down,it can not even boot up with the body electric charge:-this is like a car battery is totally dead, even with boost cable to inject current to bring up the dead battey.Who can vote “yes” for zinawi? Well,Zinawi, without a doubt has lost billions of brain cells.Yes,zinawi has been on life-support for too long;it is just a matter of time that a whisle blower comes out of the closet and the evidence is positively confirmed and going beyond this point is like bringing back the long-time dead italian masters from wherever they had been changed into tenuous dust.

The death of one person does not bring the expected change in Ethiopia unless there is a change of heart towards Democracy and Human Dignity by the remaining band members of the oppressive musical assemble of TPLF. When the Berhanes, Sebehats, Seyoums, Berekets, and others reach to their blocked hearts to feel sympathy and empathy towards the Ethiopian Peoples, when the Teletafes understand that the consequences of their roles in the oppression are the pains and sufferings of the Ethiopian Peoples, and collectively the TPLF masters and the Teletafes, when they realize that they are also as fragile and mortals as their LEADER, and then we can say Death and the fear of Death will provide the key to unlock the gate of oppression imposed on the Ethiopian Peoples. Let God have HIS MERCY to these oppressors. Anyways I do not believe that they know GOD.

To reaffirm the contention of maintaining the status quo, and to answer Sol’s question in part, here is what Sibhat Nega said in Ethiomedia website, “The government (TPLF/eprdf regime) has been functioning normally during Meles’s absecence, insisting that the system does not depend on one person.” He is absolutely right in trying to dismiss the notion held by the media that with the absence of the Prime Minister, eprdf crumles. If I may paraphrase and make an inference thereof, the system he alludes to are ethnic federalism, secessionism and totaliarinism built into the constitution, as the an operating system, assisted with security, military and federal police forces as tools and utilities to the operating system are in tact with direct support by the teletafi (ethnic federalist and indirect support by the loyalist (ethnic federalist) opposition parties now aligned as ODF/EFDF/fdre with similar set up with ethnic agenda with that of TPLF/eprdf regime and is being run by the Gang of Four in the absence of the Prime Minister, eventhough he is not representd with them.

In the past he has expressed his opinion with VOA, that TPLF stand over the independence of Eritrea is irrevesible vowing to fight back and that ethnic federalism is a mechanism to bring similar sub-ethnic groups, I paraphrase together, that have never been together before with respect to ethnic federalism, without mention of the disgruntled OLF, etc ethnic groups unwillingness to work together under TPLF/eprdf regime, went on armed struggle using the ethnic rights to secede upto self determination stipulated in Article 39 (1).

with his response above he has reaaserted the same committment to the constituion drafted by TPLF as master architect, supported by the teletafi (ethnic fereralist) and loyalist (ethnic federalist) opposition parties, where their main claims are the “yekili Mnegistat yekulinet mekeber and demand for political space as if political space is a quantitative event rather than qualitative event, even when they know those Killil Mengistats are only puppet governments managed by TPLF Politbeurro, despite the need for struggle for individual freedom, liberty and equality to have precedence over ethnic and secessionist rights.

As far as his statment that the government (TPLF/eprdf regime) made up of ex-liberation fronts, with half of ex-TPLFites aligned with OPDF/EFDF/fdre is functioning normmaly has been the hall mark of the silent majority of Ethiopians that were paitientely waiting after the fall of the Derg, and now in the abscence of the Prime Minister are paitientely waiting that a system of government that oprates on their behalf under a constitution free of ethnic and/or secessionist politics and/or policies and party alignments based on national agenda will emerge to advance Ethiopia as one nation, one flag, one official language with all other languages, cultures, religions to develop simultaneously and ethnic groups to live in harmoney in each of the original provinces, by developing the country along ecological regions, travesing accross ethnic groups as: northen and central highlands, the Rift valley lowlands, the Savanah type of mid-altitude subtropics of the west and South west, the highlands of the South and South eastern Ethiopia under free market capitalism and liberal democracy or a variation thereoff.

“We fought for Eritrean independence from the colonial rule of Ethiopia. Even now, if Eritrea is attacked, EPRDF would jump into Eritrea, join the Eritrean people and engage the enemy.” – Sebhat Nega on Radio Woyane (May 28, 2007)

TPLF has since its inception been controlled by mercenary elements that fought against Ethiopia as their enemy. The group that wiped out so many lives and terrorized Tigrians into slavery and servitude, is still in power. If Ethiopia is turned into a failed, landlocked state, it is with a purpose. Read details from the historical facts presented by Asgede G. Selassie, author of Gahdi 1 and Gahdi 2. A survivor of the pogrom, Asgede was one of the 11 rebels who founded TPLF.

Thank you Wallew, for bringing up to light about the anecdotal speech of Sibhat Nega, which I tried to paraphrase from his interview with VOA, as supporting evidence of the inclination of the TPLF Politbeurro, supported by the teletafi (ethnic federalist) and loyalist opposition parties directely or indrectley together of security, federal and military and Agazi forces against the silent majority of Ethiopians, yearning for economic and political freedom.

TPLF has evolved by the process of elimination, with exception the last half has only been evicted not eliminated, and only exist as rivals with the same ethnic agenda and party alignment along ethnic lines, as opposed to the national agenda for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignity of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. Until that becomes a reality and goals accommodated by OPDF/EFDF/fdre, along with the teletafi parties the TPLF Politbeurro will be a hard nut to crack open, just by the absence of the Prime Minister, the master architect of ethnic fedralism, secessionism and totaliarinism, built into the constitution.

Meles will not make it mainly because his body kept on rejecting the top of the line medication;therefore, because he is bedridden it doesn’t mean he will get up and shake off all devices that have been hooked to for the last nine weeks.Mind you, this criminal lost billions of brain cells due to sound waves hit him at the spot;moreover,he had been picking all sorts of diseases while in jungle,it is very complicated and beyond the capacity health officers to bring back this terrorist into life.Immeniently, this man will face justice, dead or alive.
