The Woyane Brain Motor is in Coma or Dead By Kaleab Tessema

July 29th, 2012 Print Print Email Email

When I heard the news that Meles is critically ill, I tried to find out the veracity of the information, and it was true that he is suffering from whatever disease he got. It is great news for all Ethiopians. The brutal Meles who murdered the innocent people and acted like he was immune to death. Now, he is comatose and death is waiting to pay him back for a savage treatment of the Ethiopian people. “Ethiopia Stretches out Her Hands to God.” Meles’ aim was to divide the country into powerless mini-states in order to make Eritrea strong and superior economically and militarily in the horn of Africa.

I am just forced to look back and reminiscence on what the despotic dictator did to Ethiopians in the last twenty-one years. In 2005, Meles criminally ordered the execution of 200 protesters when he lost the democratic election. He massacred civilians in Gambella. Innumerable Oromos and journalists suffered in solitary confinement in windowless rooms. He systematically slaughtered the innocent Amharas in Bedno and Arbagugu. Some while ago, he justified the forcefully evicted Amharas from Gura Ferda.

Let us not forget that when the TPLF force seized Addis Ababa, Meles’ loyal security polices killed Assefa Maru, Tesfaye Tedese, and latter Prof. Asrat Woldeyes by throwing him in the dungeon until his deaths. In an interview, racist Meles said that these “donkey” Amharas need to learn a lesson, when we point a Kalashnikov at them, they become peaceful and religious. Meles and his cronies are a zealots who view the Amhara as their archenemy.
Overt or covert, Meles’ actions were anti-Ethiopian. He put the country on a dangerous path of division by pitting language-based tribal regions against each other–in order to maintain power by divide-and-conquer. Now, Meles’ cronies must contend with a crippled chief and will have a difficult time running a moribund racist political system.
Most dictators have common characteristics that enable them to stay in power. Dictators try to bulldoze anybody they see as a threat to their existence or political interest and never hesitate to wipe out those who have outlived their usefulness. They castigate journalists and human rights defenders. They also try to portray themselves as being brave and invincible, yet they are soaked in fear and are responsible for innumerable deaths and disappearances of peaceful protesters under mysterious circumstances. Such dictators are so obsessed with titles, and hence accumulate accolades to the extent of subjecting themselves to global ridicule.

As noted above, Meles fits the description of a dictator. In addition, he has employed the use of the military and secret police to maintain his political dominance and to dash the hopes of the people.

To some extent, dictators are nationalists, but Meles differs from this group. He sold out the country’s sovereign territorial integrity. He became a stooge of foreign powers whose aim was to dismember Ethiopia into mini-states. Shamelessly, Meles wrote a letter to the UN requesting to officially and quickly legitimize and recognize Eritrean independence.

Not only this, in 1993, Meles and the TPLF supporters were dancing alongside Eritreans in the street in Addis Ababa in support of Eritrean secession. The act was ignominious to Ethiopians. Even after the incorrect referendum, Meles said that Ethiopia has to pay reparations to Eritrea, because Ethiopia colonized Eritrean illegally. This suggestion is ludicrous.

He also openly said that “Ethiopia’s history is only 100 years old, and its flag is a piece of rag.” Meles continued saying publicly that he would not contravene the territorial integrity of Eritrea by claiming the port of Assab because independence is not divisible, but according Meles, Ethiopian territorial integrity is divisible.

Generally speaking, Eritreans are given all opportunities in Ethiopia, and their rights are more protected than the rights of Ethiopians. Meles is an ignoble person who should never have had chance to represent such historically rich and great nation. Unequivocally, Ethiopia is being ruled by its own enemy.

It was not long ago that Meles ceded the arable land from Gondar to Sudan. There was no doubt that Meles would have given Bademie to Isayas, but he was afraid of some die hard Tigraians that would have objected to the transfer. Now, it is a sad news the illness or the death of Meles for Isayas that Bademie is wind up as a dream.

Melese and his groups have a long term plan to run the country by intimidation. Recently, the Meles regime prosecuted the journalists and opposition groups. Actually, prosecution is a tool that the dictator Meles uses to stifle those who disagree with his policies. Absent of evidence, the regime has been subjected journalists and opposition party members as terror to torture, arbitrary arrest, illegal detention, incarceration, and assassination.
At the same time, the dictator Melese has been remunerating those they believe are loyal to him and ready to carry out his unlawful acts and instructions without hesitation. He respects and rewards people who do his dirty jobs. When governments’ power does not come from the people, a dictator’s power is not limited and tends to expand in scope and permeates every aspect of the people’s lives.
The incentives Meles uses in this regard can take the form of appointment or promotion to prestigious positions or ranks his own ethnic group. Sponsorship for further education or training, pay rise or salary increase. Luxury houses or vehicles are also used as incentives. Most people in this category serve as willing collaborators for the money only, and they also know that they are unqualified to such positions of responsibility but enjoy the privileges.

So, Meles’ supporters believe or argue that Meles is an intelligent, wise, brave, and patriotic citizen who loves his country. Of course, sanctifying the dictatorship comes from the favoritism received. These people are delusional and dangerous and take orders from their boss–to incarcerate and kill the innocent. They do not see Ethiopia’s political and social reality. They even forgot that Meles’ stands against the unity and equality of the Ethiopian people. At the matter of fact, some of the regime’s supporters are merely hirelings.

At this point in time, Meles’ groups have a dilemma. They failed to announce official information to the public about Meles’ health and whereabouts. And they must try to keep power absent their leader. Thus far, the people have received contradictory information.

Sebhat Nega and Bereket Simon said that Meles is doing fine in Brussels hospital. However, from Bereket’s explanation, one could infer that Meles is in critical condition, but Sebhat Nega told to VOA that Meles is recovering and will come out from the hospital within ten days. I believe that Sebhat Nega’s speech is to buy time and to forestall any riots occur against Woyane.

Given the scenario of the absence of Meles, the deputy prime minister will be leading the country until the next election. From my perspective, whoever replaces Meles, that person will never have the same thinking and personality like Meles. Meles is a one man-ruler who spins the Woyane. Right now, the Woyane members are like mad dogs; they are arresting and killing peaceful protesting Muslims to show their iron fist, in the event that Meles dies.

In the final analysis, the oppositions groups have to be united to replace Woyane. It is about time to put aside their differences and to work together at this critical time, otherwise, the same cycle will repeat. Sometimes, opposition parties must learn from their mistakes; it would be a terrible mistake to allow the TPLF to stay another 21 years. It is true that Woyane is running the country more than 20 years. I sincerely plead to those party leaders who believe in Ethiopian unity to work together, and to liberate Ethiopian from the TPLF yoke.

How ignorant of you to think that Meles cares for Eritreans at all. Was he not the master of the conspiracy that created the invasion of Eritrea in 1998 as was proven in the communication he had with the president of Eritrea? Was it not he who confided with the former CIA agent Paul Heinz that he supported the referendum only because Eritrea was too strong and that his hope was that Eritrea will not exit as a nation in 10 years due to rivalry between Christians and Moslems rivalry? What about the recent incessant diplomatic attack on Eritrea that has led to the sanctioning of Eritrea?

  9. The silence
    | #9

The silence of the majority Ethiopians is staggering. If tPLF comes out of its secrecty only to declare something that will jeoparadize once again Ethiopia’s future, then we are going to keep complaining for another 20 years. These dangerous indifference allowing TPLF in talks with foreingers to decided for the future of Ethiopia will be nothing but our own fault. We know several factions have not been persuaded and work with the dangerous plotters TPLF and foriengers; These plans could be, opening the door for Muslims to take over and secede Tigray as well. What will we do if this happens? We know that the disintegration of nations is very much benefiting foreingers. As soon as that happen, they come in cut deal at the expense of the people. The same will happen in Ethiopia. So, what is the point of disintegration only to be influenced or neocolonized by another nation? Although it is welcome to invest and work with investors we know that such investment has hardly benefited a nation towards progress.

My god, we can continue listing the crimes of TPLF and Meles. What it indicates that we now know for sure there are people who are supporting the existance of TPLF for mere different ideologies of Ethiopians. This is the case for non unity. It is time they choose the destruction of their own people what ever ethnicity or religion they are they must choose unity. There shouldn’t be any differences of opposition groups, period since they are against TPLF rule. So why do these opposition parties are running if not going for democracy. Isn’t that the whole point? Even though you have different parties, this should be the one that should divide you because their goal should be freedom from tyrany and the establisment of Ethiopian democracy? If they don’t work towards unity and holding Ethiopian as a hostage themselves then it is clear that they are no running for democarcy but tyranny. On the other hand they are also getting a threat from TPLF that is the reason for not unity. However, this is not a cake walk. Many Ethiopians have sacrificed to make change. I wouldn’t call the EPRP type or Mengistu type, we in fact regressed backwards from these people. I am talking about the serious sacrifice Ethiopians took is when they were fighting against colonialism. On the other hand, TPLF was given 21 years to set one group against the other, therefore the opposition groups maybe not trusting what could happen if they act that it could set one group of peple against the other because of this division. Just in 2005 Ethiopoians were very successful in coming together and almost ousted TPLF. This means since 2005, it took 8 years in fact for TPLF to succeed in dividing the country seriously to the point to set one groups against the other.

Then he is a weak leader, what else can you expect as it has always been shown. In the jungle he promised many anti Ethiopians: Shaebia, Egypt, Sudan to fulfill their dreams as long as he is in power. Fulfilled their dreams of disintegrating Ethiopia and giving land to Sudan. The war with Eritrea is politically motivated and it was ego.

Even the illiterate people can understand why u write this. The main reason why u put Eritrea in ur writing is to divert ur internal problem into eri-ethio war. Or u make the Ethiopian people arose against the weyane regime coz u know how weak u r. If u r a real democracy hunger fight for the right of ur people by sacrificing ur life. We Eritreans got our independence by our braveness (God always with us). To tell you one thing even in monkey sit in the chair of ur parliament it is a must to dream and sick of jeoulsy of Eritrea. So I just leave u with one advice no matter of ur number God is always with us. We Eritreans need peace in the whole region of Africa, anyway one day the truth will come.

Kaleab, you also look a racist who believes on divide and rule. you look you are inciting hatred among Ethiopian people by some unnecessary thoughts in your writing. Your article also encourages for Ethiopians and Eritreans to have more fighting rather than co-exist peacefully. I am against any violation of human rights – no matter religion or ethnic background. Nevertheless, I found your article coming out from angry Horse’s mouth who is frustrated somewhere in exile without hope of returning home. How can Ethiopia be peaceful while it has got some people like you who are full of “Hate Speech”. One thing – I am Eritrean and no matter what Meles did to Eritreans (such as deportations), he is a HERO. he built the country more than his predecessors. For your information – Eritreans got rid of Derg and put Meles in power! Eritreans can never kneel down! Swallow this fact! have a good life!

It is ridiculous to see the name Eritrea attached to every Ethiopian discussions and analysis. Guys please wake up. Eritrea never been part of Ethio… far as know human history can tell. Of course we have common heritages as both people are part of the Agazian [Geeze] people. Even then the Eritreans had their own kingdoms of Bahri-Negest. And I would like to remind you the black history of Federation and how Hailesilasie had diverted it and how the entire Eritrean people had reacted to it. Keep in mind, that is the same and main phenomenon that triggered the 30 year long war of independence. Now forget Eritrea, it’s independent and sovereign proud nation. I am not sayin Meles is a good person, but I would be glad to see any comment on the situation and actions of Meles on Somalia issue. There is unprecedented change of history to come to Ethiopean people both from the internal situaion and due the boots of Ethio solders in Sommalia. I would love to hear from Kaleab Tessema or other the like “Amhara antagonistic” regarding future Ethio. Again Eritrea is ONCE AND FOREVER out of the Ethiopean equation.

Eritrean referendum was free and fair. Progressive Ethiopians should accept this reality and explore opportunities that benefit both countries. Eritrea achieved independence by force and legitimized the latter by a referendum that culminated in the restoration of Eritrean statehood.

It is a very interesting article to read. Meles Zenawi is the worst leader who is almost the same as Stalin or Hitler. This ignorant and hateful leader brainwashed many Ethiopians by his lie and bluff. He encouraged tribal politics which is deeply rooted and poisoned the people. We can easily see his masterpiece by the recent ethnic clash in the southern Ethiopia. As a matter of fact evil man and cats don’t die quickly. You are simply coward who feels heroic by incidents that are not of your contribution. The fact that PM Meles is ill should not make you happy at least; this is not an Ethiopian character. We Ethiopians have reached some 92 million (CIA statistics) only by inclusion of garbage like you.

It is very clear that the momentum of Eritreans is increasing and they are very much coordinated. Every time when Eritrean name rises, they make comments. This tells me, if this blog is Ethiopian, if you see that over 80 percent of the people responding to this article are Eritreans, then this is worrisome. They have been posting destructive comments all over the Ethio sites to make us look bad. Yet, we Ethiopians don’t care. This tells me they know what is going on and they want to take advantage in deteriorating Ethipia. They have a very good mentors. As situations are getting bad, it is time that the blogs of Ethiopians kick out or not post any offencive messages. I have noticed that on the Ethio blogs all over, since the past 2 weeks, it has very bad comments and I have notice that foreignrs are also making comment this tells me more non Ethiopians are visiting the Ethio blogs. One was in fact said if any thing happened to Ethiopia, we deserve it because he had no idea Ethiopians were like this, acting enemies of eachother while we come from the same nation. This should wake us up. Eritreans will always pull us down. It is time we get our acts together as they do a good intelligence on our sites, we should do the same. They don’t seem the people to back down and want to live in peace for sure now I am beginning to believe. By the way, those comments also could come from the half Tigrayan and Eritrean groups taking over our country.

Mr Kaleab Tessema, please listen carefully. You are accusing Meles of being a bloody dictator. So if you think you are a democrat then use the language of a democrat and try to persuade your readers and others to be on your side. The language you have used is quite pathetic to the least. If you are not a democrat and you want political power then take a gun and launch a guerilla warfare and come to power because that’s how the Woyane assumed political power. But this requires guts and determination. Do you have those traits Mr Kaleab? Let me give you another advice which may help you. Leave Eritrea alone and focus on Ethiopian domestic issues. That will save you time and energy. Please remember Eritrea achieved national sovereignty through the burrell of the gun and not through Woyane’s charitable act. In future please write intelligent articles, otherwise don’t waste cyber space. I wish the Ethiopian people a better leader and government because they deserve them!

The rest of Ethiopians are struggling to make ends meet in every day basis, millions of Ethiopians go to bed in empty stomach every night and fifteen millions of Ethiopians are expected to die of hunger…Only the TPLF who are living in million dollar homes in and outside of Ethiopia. and their billions of dollars stolen money stashed in foreign banks think there is Economy Growth in Ethiopia. Ato Kaleab – The Woyane never accepted Eritreas independence to help the Eritrean people! nor for goodwill -Their ambition has always been and is to create the “republic of Abai Tigrai” They are so slefish to even sell their own mothers!

The Eritrean people never trusted TPLF even when they were in the incubators in Sahel but were used as fenji regatch by the EPLF mechanized brigades even as they marched into Addis.

In traditonal TPLF culture anything can be sold as long as they are the beneficiaries – prime example is the hundreds of hectars being sold for nothing to Indians and Arabs!

Ato Kaleab Tessema’s comments on Eritrea’s session thru incorrect referendum? is so funny that he is not even aware that the so called Ethiopian unity was created without people’s choice or any referendum by any people or by any UN supervision so what is the point? – Over 98% of Eritreans voted for session and that is what matters.

Without the constitution of ethnic federalism, a divide and rule policy and its supporters Meles Zenawi and now Sibhat Nega had nothing to stand on to threaten against subversion of the constitutional order, previously to have political leaders were set to languish in prison, now a threat of going to war to defend it the ill conceived constitution of TPLF for TPLF and of TPLF and TPLF affiliated enterprises. cadres, security, military and federal police forces and foreign corporations and the teletafi and loyalist opposition parties. Addendum, to complete the first sentence please add: then all parties and factions should rise up in a non-violent uprising to freedom to restore Ethiopian nationalism and the soveignity of Ethiopia to freedom and democracy of the people, for the people and by the people. To accomplish that parties and factions need to coalesc around the goals for national agenda for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignity of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, where the last item refers to individual freedom, liberty and equality to supercede ethnic and secessionist rights. to do that parties abandon alignments along ethnic lines leving the TPLF to hang on that secenario along with the constitution as a matter of being loyal to the tax payers of the silent majority of Ethiopians but not to parties aligned along ethnic lines nor to any of the Group A or B presented above as two faces of TPLF.
