  1. UNITE!

Never ending talks, talks and more talks with no solutions. What is holding these leaders from forming ONE ETHIOPIAN POLITICAL PARTY? COULD IT BE THESE PEOPLE ARE LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR OWN BEST INTERESTS TO BE THE NEST LEADER OF ETHIOPIA? IF NOT NOW, WHEN? HOW MANY ETHIOPIANS HAVE TO BE TORTURED AND KILLED, AND HOW MUCH LAND AND ETHIOPIA’S TREASURES HAVE TO BE ROBBED TO FORCE THESE LEADERS CONSCIENCE TO UNITE AND FIND SOLUTIONS TO STOP THE TPLF CRIMINALS? DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED TO SAY THE LEAST.

This a good beginning and an example of a civil dialogue wherein groups who harbor different views on issues that matter to the development and well-being of the entire people regardless of ethnicity and creed can air their stands. I am not concerned about how forceful and loaded with emotions are some of the participants in presenting their group’s views. In my opinion after watching the video all sides have valid points. There is a risk of wanton terrorism that can wreak havoc on our harmonious people. The Arab megalomaniacs are always hatching heinous schemes to wedge a a rift between our peaceful people on religious and ethnic lines. They have been conniving by exploiting secondary incidences arising on country. And they have done this so many times in the history of our people. They encourage individuals and groups with destructive minds to go out there and kill other people of different faiths. To these megalomaniacs anyone who goes out and kills believers of other faiths is rest assured of entrance into paradise. That is what they told Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi in the 16th century and that was what they were telling members of my Oromo Ittu clan during the Fascist Italy occupation. Ahmad ibn Ibrahim did what they told him to do to the letter and he wreaked havoc on the country and innocent people. That could have been the main reason my proud Oromo people followed his retreating army and gave them the right medicine. They might have been horrified by the wanton killing he left behind on the people with whom the Oromos were peacefully bartering and trading with just yesterday. And in the 1930′s Fascist Italy intentionally placed Albanian religious fanatics as policemen and mayors (they called them ‘resedencias’) in places where the majority of the people are of Oromos and Muslims. They told my father and his clan to go out and kill people of Christian faith. They thought the entire clan is so backward and stupid that they would go out and massacre individuals they grew up together tilling the land and tending their herds. The result was to the contrary. They rather gave shelter and refuge to freedom fighters that were hiding in the highlands of the Chercher Plateau. You see it did not work then and it will not work now. This was a factual story I heard during my childhood years when my father and his Christian friends talked about the occupation years. Fanaticism of any religion laced with violence should never be given the light of the day to spread hate among our harmonious people. Here is my interpretation of religious freedom. If you are free to go to your place of worship and observe your religious holidays and our clerics are also allowed to preach the Holy Scripture sans violence and bigotry then I say you have religious freedom. But where this freedom should be left behind at the door is when running the affairs of the state. It never worked and had in fact brought unheard prosecution and hardships on their own people. Name any religion and you will find such sad times that ordinary people never forgot. The Spanish Inquisition, The Talibans, Al Shabaab, Al Qaeda are the best examples. All in all, I am encouraged by the dialogue.

This looks like the debates prior to 2010 election, less KAEUP on a range of issues, except Anti-terrorism law and the set up of the constitutional frame work based on the ideologies of ethnic federalism, secessionism and totalitarianism and/or State capitalism, supported by TPLF/political, TPLF/EFFORT, TPLF affiliated enterprises, cadres, and foreign corporations in the form of free market capitalism engaged in exploitation, corruptions, economic and political strangle hold of the country’s resources much like the Dutch Boers of ex-apartheid regime in addition to its ethnic federalism of self rule of then apartheid South African regime, towards which the black South Africans fought for African Nationalism were not part of the dialogues.

Unlike the past, the present dialogue focuses on anti-terrorism law, where the TPLF/eprdf regime is represented by two officials, Medrek being represented by UDJP and Medrek officials with one representative from Semayawi and one from EDP party in a brilliantly executed, extensive debates, where the TPLF/eprdf regime contends the anti-terrorism law on the grounds of “yeshibring adega lemekelakel”, whereas the opposition parties contend that the anti-terrorism law tramps on human rights and democracy that any dissent/criticism to the rgime is considered a terrorist and that also the demand by the Ethiopian Muslims to regain their constitutional rights is considered as terrorism, I presume, calling on the TPLF/eprdf regime to respect those rights. As far as I can see these debates would have been worthwhile in a parliamentary debate had OPDF/EFDF/Medrek/fdre won a sizeable seat in the parliament in 2010, as mirror image of TPLF/eprdf regime to engage in the draft of anti-terrorism law, to where the human rights and democracy is less affected, while maintaining ethnic federalism, secessionism and totalitarianism and/or state capitalism in tact in favor of the teletafi (ethnic federalist) and the loyalist (ethnic federalist) parties from with in and contending with ethnic secessionism/ethnic nationalism from the liberation movements or being implicated with them with TPLF Politbeurro under control of the government with the support of the teletaifi parties, killil administrators, security, federal police and military forces all of which cater to the TPLF/Such scenario calls for ratification of the constitution, party alignments along national agenda instead of ethnic agenda of divide and rule policy in a colonial style, resorting to the original provinces of varied ethnic groups and developing Ethiopia as one-nation state to counter the negative forces of disintegration as it now prevails to restore individual freedom, liberty and equality ahead of ethnic and secessionist rights, Ethiopian Nationalism, the sovereignty of Ethiopia under a national agenda for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians as common goals binding all parties to reinforce the current protest demonstrations led by all factions and parties in symposium to reach an agreement for alignment under a national agenda, not a parliamentary style debate, the distinction of which is not apparent with silent majority of Ethiopians nor to foreign donor countries, which does not amount to radical change in the constitution and/or governance.

The two TPLF Cadres did not tell the truth. Shemalis Kamal, all he said was totally a bullshit. Members of the opposition parties addressed the concern, the cost, and the consequences of the jungle law in its totality which is nothing but oppressive and suppressive anti-social in many ways. Shenalis Kamal has put up a good amount of weight, but also has lost his mental faculty.

If we trace back how Sheemels Kemal was found and was lost back, you had for sure found him stacked underneath the finger nails of Meles Zenawi.

Rough, rude, and inurbane how sheemels Kemal was, we noticed in a panel discussion along with his Co-player, another empty tank, heavy hose, we might also say this- the suckers!

Good job members of the opposition parties! The drill was a success because members of the opposition parties presented facts and figures to the public.

This debate made once again crystal clear that logical argument on its own is never going to persuade a dictatorial regime, any dictatorial regime for that matter. Kudos to all opposition leaders that spoke out while sitting in the LIONS DEN. Question is why the regime provided this platform while knowing they have no tangible answer that is backed by verifiable evidence. My guess

    1) to frame the opposition leaders as terrorists so that the regime is able to make use of their own law brewed by using the recipe of supermacist ideology to prolong hegemony and to ultimately get rid of uncomfortable ideas and constructive critism.
    2) show the outside world that the regime allows dissent by letting opposition leaders speak out to dupe the donor countries along the lines of, look how democratic we are and how we exercise it. They will of course always have some explanation at hand as to why they censored and removed uncomfortable parts out of the debate, i.e if ever they get asked.

Bottom line again: POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. This regime is a living proof that this statement is true.
Nothing which came out of the representatives of that regime made sense except emanating arrogance and repeating time and again terrorism has to be dealt with. No one disagreed except the key question how and why it is being done and executed indiscriminately using a law that contradicts itself when looked at from the perspective of the country’s constitution, that remained unanswered. The regime reps continued unabated repeating themselves, beating around the bush showing the futility of that debate from the on set. One can say waste of time.
Well we knew and once again know what we have in our hands, deep down we all knew that nothing is going to change or were we expecting some concessions from the lips of the regime reps?
    The struggle must go on.

    Ethiopia will prevail
