By whatever other names they may be called, Woyanne (TPLF) and Shabia (EPLF) are now at the helm of power in Ethiopia and Eritrea, respectively, making life miserable for the majority of the citizens and some others around them. Both regimes have their origin from the same tribal stalk marinated with European colonial and derogatory Arab influences, with startling similarities in a number of aspects before and after holding power. The instinct-driven administrative “guess work“ they implement in the name of governance in their respective countries are basically the same as those they used to practice when they were tribal guerrilla fighters against Ethiopia. That means, as they were in their guerrilla years, they are still immersed in tribal mentality, crude, harsh and backward in every aspect of their attitudes and actions. After having been in power for about a quarter of a century, they have not demonstrated any sign of genuine change in these attributes. This has created a huge problem of compatibility between the leadership styles and the need of the people they claim to govern and the reality of the outside world. Although the two regimes seem to disagree with each other in some instances, as repeatedly observed previously, the above basic factors, together with personal and political commonalities, surely bind them together more tightly to look out for each other’s interest when the need arises.

After the fall of Ethiopia and Eritrea in the hands of TPLF and EPLF, the countries have been in wars with each other on several occasions. Due to these unnecessary wars, both countries have encountered significant human and material loses. Experts link the causes of the wars primarily to economic, cultural and/or simply “egoistic” reasons on the part of the leaderships. The issue of the border town of Badem, still in Ethiopia, has currently become a major excuse for finger pointing at each other and provocative ranting. Although the UN Boundary Commission has decided in favor of Eritrea regarding Badem, TPLF has not been willing to accept the decision for political expediency. This action of TPLF has turned Shabia’s Issays furious, forcing him to consider taking revenge against the TPLF regime. Coinciding with the interests of some Ethiopian opposition groups against TPLF, political parties like G7 have opted working with Shabia to fight TPLF, with the ultimate goal of removing it from power. However, many well-intentioned Ethiopians have questioned the merits of such a collaborative effort between the anti-Ethiopia organization, Shabia, and G7 and the likes. I am one of those Ethiopians harboring this subscription quite for some time. I believe that it is not only impossible to bring about positive changes in Ethiopia by working with Shabia, but the country will also be burdened with additional problems that will be harder to overcome.

The Shabia leadership believes that the exploitation of Ethiopia is key to the survival and development of Eritrea. Since Eritrea is a much smaller country, it is Shabia’s desire and policy that Ethiopia should remain weak in order to be malleable for manipulation and exploitation. To accomplish this objective, Shabia has been serving as a shelter and a source of material resources for different liberation fronts that are bent to destroy Ethiopia as we know it. These libration fronts include OLF and ONLF. In the face of this ongoing anti-Ethiopia effort, how come one expects to get genuine support from Shabia that can help the Ethiopian people in the long run, as G7 and its likes claim? One may wonder if this the intended goal of G7 and its ant-TPLF allies?

There are reports that Shabia is engaged in the day-to-day control of the activities of patriotic Ethiopian fighters stationed in Eritrea to fight the TPLF regime with arms. This action of Shabia is partly reflected by the lack of expected progress in the ati-TPLF fight and the disappearances of some key leaders of the fighters. In addition, previously, Shabia was involved in the dismantling of once the strongest Ethiopian opposition party, Kinejit, by creating a fake organization known as AFD.

Available evidence further indicates that high-positioned Eritreans working in Ethiopia (including military personnel) are in the service of Eritrea at the expense Ethiopia. This loyalty towards Eritrea is in contrast to the widely claimed antagonist attitude of the TPLF regime against the small nation. In fact, many believe that the seemingly hostile attitude of TPLF towards Eritrea is a made-up lie created by the very TPLF only for public consumption, primarily by nationalist Tigre.

If Shabia has a concern about the well-being of Ethiopia and its people, it should also be expected to be concerned, at least equally, about its own people, the Eritreans. It has been well witnessed by the entire world that Shabia is one of the most repressive and brutal regimes in the world, and Eritreans, under shabia, are among the most suffering people. The immense suffering they undergo has even become a burden to other well-off nations particularly across the Mediterranean and Red seas. How do we expect this cruel organization called Shabia to be helpful to Ethiopians? Clearly, it is wrong and also immoral to collaborate with such a terrorist organization for any purpose. With this relationship, there is a possibility of “guilty by association” with a likelihood of unpleasant consequences sometime from somewhere.

With all the dishonesty, crimes and immorality associated with the two evils, Shabia and TPLF, what can be expected to happen next regarding Ethiopians who are working with Shabia against the TPLF regime? A likely long-term scenario could be that after Shabia becomes comfortable controlling as many Ethiopians as possible who oppose the TPLF, a fake negotiation will be introduced between the two regimes to exchange anti-TPLF Ethiopians from Eritrea for something that Shabia wants from the TPLF. In this regard, one possibility can be the abdication of Badem to Shabia by the TPLF. In this way, all Ethiopians in Eritrea opposing TPLF will be transferred to Ethiopia and fall in the hands of TPLF. It is not rocket science to predict what will then happen to these patriotic Ethiopians and to the struggle. On the other hand, it will be a win-win situation for the two criminal organizations, once again, benefiting big time from our perennial weaknesses.

What can possibly be done to prevent this gloomy situation going on currently? Obviously, the first action is to stop collaborating with the confirmed historical enemy of Ethiopia, Shabia, as it has not made a change of mind in its destructive policy against Ethiopia and the Ethiopian people, irrespective of political changes and power shift. After becoming free from shabia, the Ethiopian opposition should strive to create a stronger bond with other like-minded Ethiopians to work together against their common enemy, the TPLF, for the well being of the nation and its people, irrespective of ethnicity/languages, religion and geographic locations. To move forward towards this goal, efforts should include activities related to foreign diplomacy and, of course, to the struggle of the people inside Ethiopia. As it can be seen every moment, currently, the world is clearly divided by partisan politics. It is important to identify who the major players are and what roles they play in shaping the world we live in. Most of human history shows that powerful nations, directly or indirectly, can determine the fate of less powerful or poor nations. This reality should be recognized and the necessary political adjustments should be made to explore the possibility of taking advantage of. Conscious and effective strategy should be designed to win reliable new friends and sources of supports from around the world. Ultimately, this external diplomatic effort should be coordinated with the internal struggle to achieve the desired goal of removing the evil regime and forming a democratic nation. There are many examples of success stories in many places based on these approaches of struggle agonist tyranny and exploitation. What is needed in Ethiopia’s case is the willingness and determination to do it. There is no need to go far away in search of a very risky adventure in a land ruled by crooks.

Long live Ethiopia, the birthplace of the human species on planet earth.

Well said. Thank you. This was my last draw with ginbot 7. Whatever credibility they
Y had is gone once they surrendered to Eritrea-whose agenda is clearly to destroy Ethiopia.

although you concern may have some weight in the past,Ethiopians and Eritreas who have carried the burden of living under this Tigrian ethnocentric government or by being its neighbor have concluded there is no enemy that equals TPLF for both people. After 25 years of TPLF rule your analysis plays on the fear the TPLF goons are spading. Whatever cultural similarity they might have Eritreans never was rooted out of Ethiopia because of the “color of their eye” they have prospered in Ethiopia without any discrimination. Most of the Eritrean intellectuals you find in higher education institutions in USA are the product of Haile selasee University Graduate. At this time in history for both people TPLF is an enemy and it has to be uprooted for good. Ethiopian and Eritreans will work out mutually beneficial arrangement based on international law. We don’t have claim to Aseb or Any other port. Eritrea will have an accesses to Ethiopian market and Ethiopia will use the brotherly Eritrean port for mutual benefit. We rather pay for Eritrea than Djibouti. TPLF is destroying Ethiopia borrowing money form i international monetary institution in our name, you are losing sleep what Shabia may or may not do. The war for our freedom is going to be in Ethiopia proper not in Eritrea. If our Erirean brothers help us to ignite the fire of freedom that will seal our relationship for generation to come. As a last note the freedome we are seeking includes our Tigry country man. They will be the benfcery of this freedom straggle as any other Ethiopians. Long live the freedom sprit of Ethiopians.

The writer is singing the same old songs. Shabia can not be trusted or never trust Shabia. He/she could not disguise him/her self as a patriot.Just barking as the TPLF dog. Those who sing this song are also the guys that want the status quo to continue. In other words, they are telling Ethiopians to remain passiv and governable to the TPLF regime. Although they are pretending to be concerned about the future of Ethiopia, they are more concerned with prolonging the TPLF rule in Ethiopia. My acquaintance who was in the opposition broup but has recently started some business in Ethiopia is now among those bashing the PatriotsGinbot7 leaders for deciding to start their armed resistance from Eritrea. I know he has not done good money in Ethiopia and he is worried for his business, not Ethiopia and its people.
We shall attain our freedom and gain our rights.

A call to boycott the upcoming seminar on Ethiopia and Eritrea relations

    Entoto Forum Editorial Board

In a press release this week, ESAT announced that it will convene a seminar (conference) on: “Ethio – Eritrean Relation: Current State and Prospect”. Ethiopians and Eritreans and other non-Ethiopians are invited to discuss Ethiopia’s political challenges and seek solutions for “lasting peace, stability, democracy, and economic prosperity.” The stated objectives of the conference are: “to devise strategies to bring an enduring political change [in Ethiopia]” and “create consensus around the means and methods of struggle.” The areas of focus are: “the relationship between Ethiopian political organizations and the Government of Eritrea, feasibility of armed struggle against the regime in Ethiopia staging from Eritrea, and the necessary conditions for Ethiopians to support Ethiopian political organizations using Eritrea.”

Admittedly, nobody has exclusive monopoly to discuss the political situation of Ethiopia including seeking solutions to her political problems. What’s disconcerting is the invitation extended to Eritreans and other non-Ethiopians “to devise strategies, means and methods for political change in Ethiopia.” The Eritrean government controls the quasi-totality of Ethiopian diaspora opposition political organizations irrespective of their political persuasion mostly using obvious methods and at times subtle ones. The organizations allow the control to continue and adamantly refuse to dissociate themselves from it even when widespread and trustworthy accusations suggest that it hardly wants them to stand on their feet. It is a mystery why the government backs them while it sabotages them at the same time. Our guess is that it might be preparing them as bargain chips for its future peace deal with Ethiopia.

As if the control of the Ethiopian diaspora opposition is not enough, Eritreans – which includes Eritrean government officials and Eritrean government supporters – are being engaged to devise Ethiopia’s political future. That’s what we learned from ESAT’s latest press release on the upcoming seminar. It has happened in the previous seminar and we feel that the coming one will not be different. Unlike the Eritrean government officials and Eritrean government supporters, the Eritrean diaspora opposed to the Eritrean government which possibly has much to share in common with the Ethiopian diaspora opposition is not welcome to share its views. We believe that this is opportunism of historical proportions unbecoming of ESAT and Ethiopian diaspora opposition; it is also an affront to common sense and blatantly wrong.

Despite what is stated on its web page, ESAT, the self-designated host of the seminar, is not nonpartisan and independent. It is Arbegnoch – Ginbot 7 (AG7) affiliate and, like AG7 itself, largely dependent on the Eritrean government assistance. For those who open their eyes, confirmations that ESAT strives to meet the wishes of the Eritrean government abound. It reports little or nothing on absence of democracy and violations of human rights in Eritrea. It deliberately ignores activities of the Eritrean opposition in diaspora. Its previous and coming seminar are called following the “suggestion” put forward by Mr. Isaias Afeworki, Eritrea’s president when ESAT interviewed him a couple of months ago. The seminar is just one proof that Mr. Afeworki’s “suggestion” was not something ESAT can easily ignore.

ESAT’s obvious affiliation with AG7, partisanship on major Ethiopian political issues and dependence on the Eritrean government deprives it the impartiality badly needed to host a seminar on Ethio – Eritrea relations. A history of hundred or so years of conflict deeply embedded in the Ethio – Eritrean psyche and hundreds of thousands of soldiers still in trenches facing each other, the issue is too important to be left to ESAT that tirelessly works to skew Ethiopian public opinion in Eritrea’s favour. If the seminar should go ahead because the issues are so important, we suggest that an impartial host to takes over. Only doing that can lend some kind of credence to the seminar at this stage.

Despite a call for papers which appeared open for different ideas, the overwhelming majority of participants in the previous seminar were from AG7. As was the case with that seminar, we have no doubt that this one will also be a AG7 meeting. As a result, views and positions different from AG7 will not be given audience because they will not pass ESAT’s draconian censorship . Some who had sent abstracts for the previous seminar without having some sort of connections to AG7 did not even receive acknowledgment of communication let alone receive invitation to present their papers and participate in discussions. If you are not AG7, why waste precious time writing papers and sending abstracts? The suggestion that “all views and positions are welcome”is, if not a lie, an outright dishonesty.

It is doubtful if ESAT will invite Ethiopians who one time or another worked with the Eritrean government to advance opposition cause. Their first hand knowledge and experience dealing with the Eritrean government that ended in failure would have been a lesson to those who venture on the same treacherous path now. There are Ethiopians and Eritreans as well whom ESAT will not welcome. These are Ethiopians and Eritreans who want to see the no-peace, no-war situation between the two countries solved – peacefully. Their concern is any attack by the so called Eritrea-based Ethiopian opposition will trigger attack on Eritrea by Ethiopia devastating the lives of innocent folks. We feel that sober voices of Ethiopians who had tried with the Eritrean government and failed and those who think in terms of Ethio – Eritrea peace deserve a fair share of the time in the seminar. Sadly, that’s not to happen.

If you’re not a member or known supporter of AG7, you might not even be allowed to attend the seminar. As you can see from the announcement, there is no information regarding registration, space availability, payment or other. Eritrean government supporters or other non-Ethiopian are most welcome to attend since the seminar is open for them. Ethiopians, however, will be screen and vetted by AG7 and ESAT security network ahead of time or at the entrance to the seminar. The exclusion of skeptics of Eritrea – AG7 – ESAT collusion is absolute and without exception. Is this something you would expect from a media that calls itself non-partisan and independent? Maybe not, but who cares what you expect? AG7 member will be told to come, sit and listen to AG7 guys, Eritreans and other non-Ethiopians. Even for them, it’ll be a major disappointment and unpleasant experience to sit and silently suck the usual mumbo – jumbo. We feel that they should seize the opportunity to tell the truth about the bad practices of the Eritrean government on Ethiopian diaspora opposition as told by those who tried with it in the past.

Again as it happened during the previous seminar, ESAT has, this time too, unilaterally framed the theme, “objectives” and “focus” of the seminar. It said it wants to discuss “Ethio-Eritrean Relation: Current State and Prospect”. The topic of the seminar implies that the past relation of Ethiopia and Eritrea is irrelevant even if the past has everything to do with the present and the future of the two countries. It appears that ESAT has meekly abandoned history not to compromise AG7’s and its own vested interest. Since the “objectives” and “focus”are already framed, there is no room to make suggestions. Typical to a partisan and dependent media, the invitation came from top-down on a clear take it or leave it basis. As ESAT suspected, soliciting public input on issues for the seminar was to be met with blisteringly negative response. To avoid the response, it ignored to solicit public input altogether.

Given the dishonesty that pervades our political culture, no wonder ESAT behaved in a wired fashion. It obfuscated issues and directed out comes to AG7’s and its own interest. The previous seminar provides a good example here. Towards its end, a resolution prepared in advance was readout to participants and reportedly approved by acclamation which never happens in this type of seminars. It is fair to expect that the same kind of resolution will be presented and approved in the coming seminar too.

Ironically, in the press release ESAT issued, it pretended as if its role is only reporting on the seminar leaving the rest to Vision Ethiopia. Our effort to locate and find more information on Vision Ethiopia was unsuccessful leaving us to think that it is the figment of ESAT’s imagination. Who are Vision Ethiopia’s “academics, researchers, and pro-democracy advocates”? Don’t they have names and faces or are they secret from prospective participants of the seminar? If they are “academics, researchers, and pro-democracy advocates”where are they? If they are what they are said to be, knowing who they are will only add quality to the seminar than dampen it. So, why all this secrecy unless they are the kinds of guys who express no revulsion on Eritrean trickery of the Ethiopian opposition? Honestly speaking, hiding names and faces of the organizers of the seminar is an embarrassing situation justifying our call for boycott.

Another embarrassment is“objectives” of the seminar. Without being specific, the “objectives” tell us that it is an AG7 seminar the leaders of which are already in Eritrea to launch armed struggle. What common political understanding can be reached in the seminar different from the one already chosen by AG7 leaders for all Ethiopians? It has become lamentably fashionable these days to say peaceful struggle in Ethiopia is unmitigated failure and the only alternative is armed struggle. This is when knowledge, attitude and practice about peaceful struggle is still at its infancy in the country and its development is being constantly dwarfed by agitation on the merits of armed struggle.

What kind of strategies can be devised in the seminar to bring an enduring political change in Ethiopia? We’re already told that peaceful struggle is dead and buried in Ethiopia and the only way is armed struggle. Again, how can we build consensus around the means and methods of struggle in the seminar while the choice has been made for us? In fact, the choice is being acted upon right now – the last nail on the coffin of peaceful struggle.

The irony is, armed struggle has not led and cannot lead to enduring political change. It cannot likewise result in “lasting peace, stability, democracy, and economic prosperity.” For this, Somalia, Libya, Syria, South Sudan and Yemen are incontestable examples. On the contrary, only peaceful struggle which does not disrupt economic growth and overall betterment of the livelihood of the Ethiopian people can lead to an enduring political change. If you have doubts that Eritrea – AG7 and ESAT war project will create enduring political change in Ethiopia, you have no choice but to forget the seminar; it is not for you. You can express outrage by rejecting war and promoting peaceful struggle at the seminar itself or elsewhere.

As made clear in the press release, “focus” of the seminar relates to the “relationship between Ethiopian political organizations and the Government of Eritrea.” This is a touchy point because it indirectly exposes the short and long term interests of the Eritrean government regarding Ethiopia. Mr. Afeworki’s plan for Ethiopia is regime change. In his interview with ESAT, he has said TPLF has to go. How? By all means available including war backed by his government. Why? Because he’s infuriated with post Derg era distortion of history regarding Ethio – Eritrean relations which he believes should be corrected. He also wants to end ethnic federalism in Ethiopia and put a stop to the notion of self-deamination of nations since it poses a danger to the sub-region. There is as well his express desire to neutralize elements that advocate for Eritrea’s isolation by implicating her in terrorism. He also wants to punish his former comrades – in – arms (viz. TPLF) who he believes betrayed him once they became government in Ethiopia. This goes in line with AG7’s long cherished project and it is no surprise if the the two become bed fellows. However, nobody knows what Mr. Afeworki tells OLF, ONLF and other Eritrea based Ethiopian separatist organizations. He backs unionists – federalists and separatists at the same time. Knowing this, can you sit with naive AG7 members and supporters who line-up to bring their country to an end? We don’t think so.

Further, the “focus” of the seminar relates to the “feasibility of armed struggle against the regime in Ethiopia staged from Eritrea.” It’s not clear about which Ethiopian organizations ESAT is talking here. The only army to the name is TPDM which is reportedly 70- 80% Eritrean. Insiders suggest that AG7 and the others do not have army to launch armed struggle. Here, we will make a guess that might look a page from political comic book; but we bet it is not impossible to happen. Mr. Afeworkis’will send TPDM to invade Tigray, overwhelm it totally with a lightning speed attack displacing millions and forcing them to flee to the center of the country. The grievances of the displaced resulting from late and ineffective Ethiopian defense will antagonize Tigreans with the regional and the federal governments. The rank and file of army that came from the different regions will refuse to fight, demobilizes itself voluntarily and go home. Following the occupation and looting of Tigray by Eritrea – TPDM and millions of people on the move, Ethiopians from coast to coast will rise up against the federal government and topple it. The Eritrean army wiill enter Addis Abeba with AG7 leaders. AG7, OLF and ONLF and many other ethnic organizations will hold a conference after which a transition government – an Eritrean puppet at that – is set up. Dissatisfied with the way things go, OLF and ONLF will hold referendum in which their members, supporters and the people in the regions vote for independence. Eritrea will be the first to recognize the newly independent states. Unable to reconstitute itself, Ethiopia dissolves and Eritrea lives happily ever after.

Unless you close your eyes to history, however, you can’t think the end of Ethiopia is imminent the way it is told above or in any other way. We assume that if TPDM marches on Tigray, Ethiopia will in no time overwhelm Eritrea with the objective to seize the entire country unless Eritrea seals its land and air crossings for a long time from Ethiopian incursions which looks impossible. Who can imagine that a fifteen-year stalemate between Ethiopia and Eritrea comes to an end unexpectedly in few weeks? More importantly, the difficulty for Ethiopia and the international community to fix date to end the occupation because of insecurity in the Horn region will be perplexing for Eritreans and many others. It takes a simple “faux pas” on the Eritrean side to precipitate such an undesirable eventuality. For now, Ethiopia’s attacks on selected Eritrean positions have effectively worked as deterrence on Eritrea. But who knows how long such attack works as deterrence? Maybe not that long.

With AG7 leadership in Eritrea, the pressure on the Eritrean government to dispatch TPDM on Tigray might mount. But, Mr. Afeworki, famous for his withdrawal of support from Ethiopian diaspora opposition in critical moments, might relapse to his old habit and ignore the AG7’s pressure. He might as well break from his habit and send TPDM to Tigray. In all earnest, we have a hunch that he will ignore AG7’s pressure and save his country from taking it gown with him. He will simply say: “TPDM is my body guard and not going anywhere. Here is everything you want: money and arms. Try it yourselves.” The effect of such change of position leaves AG7 to its own devices. Once the rejection sinks, AG7 leaders will be angry – as many from the Ethiopian opposition had been before them – and return to North America and Europe. AG7’s rank and file members in Eritrea will seek and obtain amnesty from Ethiopia and cross the border. That will end the dependence of Ethiopian diaspora opposition on Eritrea. Our estimate is it might take a couple of years for this to happen.

The last stated focus of the seminar is“the necessary conditions for Ethiopians to support Ethiopian political organizations using Eritrea as a rear and staging ground.”Again, what conditions are there for Ethiopians to support or not support Ethiopian political organizations operating from Eritrea? Those who support the organizations support them unconditionally out of hate for the government of Ethiopia. Anything that can bring down the Ethiopian government including war is fine for these people. Honestly speaking, who cares about AG7’s and others’ presence in Eritrea except for war that they want to unleash? War has adverse consequence on the lives of millions of Ethiopians and Eritreans, raise level of risk of Ethiopia’s disintegration and hinder economic change in the country. Forget Eritrea which brings misery on itself for no good reason. Ethiopia, even by African standards, is one of the poorest countries in the continent. We contend that Ethiopia’s poverty is partly due to wars that raged for several decades in the country. Another war will simply put her in more difficult situation from which it might not recover. Supporting such war will definitely be legally, morally and ethically wrong for all Ethiopians particularly for those living in the West.

If some of the above make sense to you, why support Eritrea’s hidden agenda to weaken and dismember Ethiopia using Ethiopians ourselves? Why add misery to the lives of the absolute majority of Ethiopians who struggle to meet ends while it is clear that there is NO positive return from war? Those of you who live in safety and comfort of the West, why don’t you leave the Ethiopian people to themselves to determine their future including to claim their rights the way they see fit? Why not repatriate leadership which is usurped by the diaspora back to leaders in the country? How about limiting the diaspora role to diplomatic, financial and intellectual support?

Ethiopians with genuine concern for the country and its people would reflect on the above questions because they will help them yo form informed opinion on Ethio- Eritrea relations and many others issues. The same issues have helped us to form sound opinion.

Once again, we call you to boycott the Eritrea – AG7 – ESAT seminar the outcome of which will not advance the cause of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. If you attend, raise some of the tough questions mentioned on this brief note.

    Good luck with your efforts.

First of all please know this. According to my view a patriot is one who defends his country through practical means: be it in resources, time energy and even sacrifice of life. Now, on the question of how to remove TPLF from power has been extensively debated among Ethiopians for years. Had you been a concerned Ethiopian in deed You could have been in those numerous meetings and speak about your position. However, it is unlikely you to be taken as a patriot because of the fact you can not even place your name in your article.

The conclusion is clear. The fact that you heavily rely on Elias kefle to produce your article is a clear sign that you are in LEAGUE with him. The bottom line when any people are subjected by un representative brute power they have every right to defend themselves through armed struggle using any available means. Does it occur to you you have no any sort of right to tell Ethiopians who are hold under a gun point, if they choose to defend them selves, not to do so. For instance, what right do you think you have to tell to the people of Gondar who are being displaced from their ancestral land if they choose to defend themselves to tell them not to? If you care why don’t tell your TPLF morons to leave our people alone?

It is too late for TPLF supporters to do any thing about Arbengiouch G-7. I am reminded with what Dr. Nega once said to the question put before him regarding to the arrest of Andargachew. He said the regardless of his arrest as to the movement it is in “Auto pilot stage”. TPLF supporters know this Ethiopians mean what they say. To the disappointment of their Wall Street sponsors the Adwa goons will be removed soon and very soon by the gallant Ethiopians. By the real patriots who are spilling their blood for their country.

I was also befuddled by the decision of some of these political groups who made a decision to march into Asmara to ask assistance in the form of financial and military material from a proven dictator ruling his own countrymen with an iron hand. His brutal rule is not secret since it is well known and condemned by all freedom loving people worldwide. I have been curious about the agreement he had all these G7′s.OLF’s and ONLF’s sign that made him open up his fiefdom and coffers. That was why I asked to good offices of this website and other similar forums to press everyone of these organizations to make every instrument they signed with Al-Toweel Isaias. What persuaded them to sell theirs to the devil? Well, they may say to the effect” “we will seek help from one devil to fight another on”. Is that what it is? If it is, they will be up to a jolting surprise sooner or later. Is these someone here who wants to bet with me on the one inevitable sad fate to Nega and his cabal that we will hear that they have fallen victims to none other than Isaias himself? Anyone? No One ahh!!! That was what I thought. This Isaias does not any one left among his own country to have them for lunch who were bold enough to stand to him. So who did were either murdered in cold blood or are still agonizing being locked up in searing metal containers. The rest are running away in all direction out of Eritrea. No body is there standing on his way. This guy ‘battle hardened’ murderer. He needs someone for his daily fix. Nega and his cabals are well cooked and glazed for him. They are ready to eat meal for any blood thirsty ruffian like Al-Toweel. Mark my word for it. It may take some time but that a dead giveaway!!!!! After my rage subsided I was able to weed out most of the typos in my previous comment. Sorry.

I was also befuddled by the decision of some of these political groups who made a decision to march into Asmara to ask assistance in the form of financial and military material from a proven dictator ruling his own countrymen with an iron fist. Anyone? No One ahh!!! That was what I thought. This Isaias does not have any one left among his own countrymen to have them for lunch who were bold enough to stand to him. Those who did were either murdered in cold blood or are still agonizing being locked up in searing metal containers. The rest are running away in all directions out of Eritrea. Nobody is there standing on his way. This guy is ‘battle hardened’ murderer. He needs someone for his daily fix. Nega and his cabals are well cooked and glazed for him. They are ready-to-eat-meal for any blood thirsty ruffian like Al-Toweel. Mark my word for it. It may take some time but that is a dead giveaway!!!!!

The opposition forces fighting against the TPLF fascists and racists have taken the moral high ground. Those who oppose them do not present any alternative. Criticising those who are sacrificing a lot to free our people frm fascism under any pretext is immoral and not acceptable.

The article is written by someone who wants the tplf regime to continue in power. What ever you say the train already left the station, no one will stop it. The freedom fighters based in Eritrea are the hope of all 90million people. There is no such struggle by being behind the computer and by writing. The struggle should go on the ground. You cried for more than threescores and you want to keep on crying thru writing and press release. Ok,if that is all you capacity keep on crying, the brave and masterful Ethiopian patriots are on the ground.
Did you see today’s news that tplf released the brave political prisoners from jail. You know why they did that, they know what is coming from the north. They know that the patriots are determined and they will not bow down until Ethiopia is free, not only the release of few political prisoners. I am so happy that they are out, but lets no be fooled. 90mill Ethiopians are in the large prison.

We don’t know what time you started drinking and got intoxicated that fast and did not even bother to correct the wrong; you, Itu Aba Farda. There was not any person existed in this world that idiot and clumsy on the narrow brain to conceal himself as an observer. Of course, the fate of fascist tplf is the fate of yours, as your fate is the fate of fascist tplf; till then, keep on fool yourself and the likes.

Why do you think Weyane supports an Eritrean opposition group in Ethiopia? Is it not to get rid of the current regime of Eritrea? The same is true with Afeworki. That also satisfies our primary objective of the armed struggle which is to remove Woyane from power. The next step is decided by the people of Ethiopia. The Woyane group was under Shabia during the struggle. Their common goal was to remove Derg from power. So, what happened next my friend? Are they still under Shabia? Do you think the intelligent people who lead Ginbot- 7/Arbegnoch are ignorant of politics?? Don’t you believe that they can achieve a better and harmonious relationship with Eritrea? Eritreans are not our enemies. They are our closest relations than anybody else if all the concerns of the two sides are dealt with gen-unity by genuine national governments which truly represent their people’s interests.

Let me remind you of the Woyane’s support for Shabia during their conflict over the Island, I think Hanish, with Yemen.Has Woyane remained an enemy of Yemen? Remember what happened to our hero, Andargachew!

Aba Farda! You are much concerned about Afeworky.Because you have much hate on his leadership and personality, you put aside the application of politics to deal with the core issue. Don’t forget sir we are talking about an issue of national magnitude. It is not a case between individuals. Various factors come into play when it comes to politics b/n or among nations. Mengistu was helping liberation fronts of other countries. Is it because he was a democrat? Thank you.

    @Shasitu Dingo

your concern seems to be what G7 and by extension ESAT is doing at the expense of Ethiopia. However, one can easily see through your writing that you don’t even write a single sentence regarding your lord TPLF doing to the people of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian interest. you are trying to create a smokescreen to hide your real intention. Had TPLF respected its own fake constitution the armed struggle may not have been necessary. But when all door is closed you will use any means necessary to break up the prison.

My previous demand to all those political grouping who are cajoling with Isaias to make every agreement they signed with him available so everyone can see. If they refuse to do just that without any delay that means there is something sinister they are trying to hide. If they also try to tell us that there is no agreement as such, then they are not telling the truth. In fact they may be lying through their teeth. If you think Al-Toweel is that generous to open his arms depot and nation’s coffers to groups from a country he fought a bloody war for almost 25 years, just ask the EPRP and TPLF folks. If you read some of the books written by former members(Some of them former leaders) of these two parties, it will be all right there for the records. Just read them. I personally had a few encounters with some of his roaming cadres(supporters) when I was in school in the Middle East in the early 1970′s. There was one who was egging me to join his front so I can get training. In one of his blahs, blahs he told me how the two nations of Eritrea and Oromos can work in tandems. He was telling me Eritrea was an advanced nation industrially and every thing can be manufactured there using existing factories. One example he gave me was that Oromia would supply wheat grains and Eritrea would process that in spaghetti and other edible food staff. Oromia does not have to go through the troubles of manufacturing any of that stuff. That was his exact wording. Please note that he was telling that to an engineering student. Oromia will remain so African supplying Eritrea with raw materials and Eritrea will remain a ‘Euro-African’ industrial giant dumping its industrial output on the forever-so-African Oromia. I did not agree with him and avoided him since that conversation. Such ambition is still prevalent in the Shaebia outfit. That is why I want to see the agreement all these groups signed with Shaebia. I want to see it now, not next week, month or year but now. Did you hear me? Now!!!! Pronto!!!!

We have exhausted this topic since it was initiated in 2006/07, when AFD1 was formed, whose medium of communication was agreed upon to be English rather than Amharic, a consortium sponsored by Issayas Afeworki, I presume, and later of Ginbot 7 = OLF, etc, which criticized as a coalition but not as a merger under the goals for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, where the last item refers to individual freedom, liberty and equality to super cede ethnic and secessionist rights, under the ideology of Ethiopian Nationalism as opposed to Ethnic Federalism, Secessionism and Totalitarianism and /State Capitalism that denies free market capitalism especially in terms of private ownership of land anywhere in Ethiopia with the original provinces of assorted ethnic groups in tact and developing the country according to ecological zones rather than major ethnic zones, which call for ratification of the constitution as the number one requirement.

The second requirement is the location from where to launch the offensive. I can understand the difficulty the armed struggle has to launch its offensive from within as well as from the neighboring states, except Eritrea in the pre text of the “enemy of our enemy”, which could not be validated.

the third requirement is to set the goals in terms of national agenda instead of the subset of the national agenda or as respect of ethnic rights,”yekilil Mengistats iqulinet Mebit Mekeberer, democracy and allow for political space a non-quantitative issue as an implicit support to “Ethnic Federalism, Secessionism, Totalitarianism and/State Capitalism, supported by crony capitalism by TPLF/Political, TPLF/EFFORT, TPLF affiliated enterprises, and foreign corporations, having a semblance of ex-apartheid South Africa by the Dutch Boers, which is contrary to people-oriented government initiated by EPRP for class struggle in terms of land reform and workers right against the HIM Haile Selassie I and latter the Miliry Dictorship of the Derg regime. Within that frame work of the struggle all the elites in the various opposition groups will to do reflective thinking not succumb into ethnic and secessionist politics and /or policies crafted by TPLF into a constitution, an ideology and political models of parties based on ethnic agenda rather than national agenda.

This is the first time i am commenting on a Ethiopian news site ever. once i finished reading the article and scrolled down to see the comments section. I saw keyboard trolls commenting the same circular reasoning you’d have seen on other Ethiopian medias. Their consistency is remarkable; it is as if they are getting paid to do it i.e full time job.

So i am glad there are people that do comment and genuinely do share their view. Its really reassuring and please keep it up. The bloke who wrote this article can have his view and that’s fine. I have come to the understanding; the author of this article and others lets call them “Elias Kifle Vista”
LOL have their own genuine grievances “lets not put all our eggs on one basket”. They also want the best for Ethiopia and let them go about it.

As people in Diaspora get their first hand information from Ethiopian medias Its useful to know you can oppose AG7 but can join and support a genuine Ethiopian “Peaceful Struggle movements”. *The alternative would be in the hands of EPRDF!*

Since Elias Kifle and others got in-front of it earlier on and can lead and be proponents for change in their on way. It would play into the greater strategy of Messay Kebede paper (if you have read it) when the peace and armed movements “work apart-together”.

Although some of article seem provocative, deliberately sabotaging, vandalizing or heretic it shouldn’t be seen as an enemy. They can do what its in their interest and other can do what is in their interest.

    do you see the picture?

I wish i could articulate my thoughts to others better but if you know any engineering students you would understand my quagmire.

comment below if my analysis if plausible.

    Obbo sida!!!

I don’t hate people just because they are just as such. By what authority can I do that? They are all created by the Almighty Creator like me. I do not harbor any personal hatred toward Isaias as a human being. But I don’t like his proven conniving behavior toward us. Who chose him to be the Simon Bolivar of the Horn of Africa? I was not consulted. You were not consulted. My proud and glorious people of Oromia were not asked to weigh in on that. They did not. I repeat they did not ask him to come in and ‘liberate’ them. What happened is that some individuals who have a deep-seated plan and desire to carve out a territory as their fiefdom had crossed the border into Eritrea to ask Isaias for material and other support to fulfill their dream. They want to be the next Salva Kiir or the next Mugabe so they can sit on the backs of my very proud Oromos. Then he will have the first dips on every thing Oromia produces. That is why I want to see every agreement OLF, G7, ONLF and others signed with Isaias and his fiefdom. I(we) want to see it now!!!

You mentioned that it is not new for dictators to provide assistance to ‘liberation’ fronts. I wished you did not say that. Tell me one armed group Mengistu helped that turned out to be a democratic government. Name one. Don’t even try South Africa!!! That country changed it apartheid ways not because Mengitu’s assistance to ANC but the radical change within the ruling party led by F. W. de Klerk and the pressure imposed on him by his supporters such as the USA, UK, Germany, France and others like Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia. Every stakeholder came to his/her senses and reached an agreement peacefully. ANC did not wage a nationwide war and defeat the South African armed forces. Rather the pressure by these countries was unbearable to the Apartheid policy makers and decisive. But look what is happening just across the border in Zimbabwe. A mess!!! And move up north and take a peak at Southern Sudan. Look at Eritrea itself. More than 30 years of bloodshed down the drain. Unfortunate Eritrean people are forced to witness the revolving doors forcing on bloodthirsty ruffian out just to bring in another vagabond in return. You move south of the border you will find another former liberation front sitting on the back of more than 100 million people after forcing the preceding hoodlum out. 24 years and counting!!!! That is why I beg to ask the question. Please name one armed liberation movement that succeeded and created a democratic society after it assumed power. Name one!!! I will let you go back one hundred years. Name one. That is why I am bitterly against the use of violence to bring about a political change.

There is no doubt as some citizens have rightly pointed out, this writer sounds more a Weyane investor such as these pictures below. It seems to me he is testing the water to see if he can divide the opposition on this issue in Abugida. By now he/she should understand TPLFites can not have it both ways loot our resources, kill our people and perpetually divide our people and still expect Ethiopians to say do as you will we won’t say any thing to you. That is utter Nonsense !To me you sound more of a PARROT than aptriot.

    [Shasitu Dingo],

It is Probable you may be the one who produced the above article.

Where is the evidence to your charges? Where is the evidence that Eritrean diaspora are excluded? Where is the evidence alleged the highset military officers are working for the Eretria? Why don’t you write your own article on this issue instead of departing from the topic and injecting this highly emotionally opinionated piece unrelated to the topic? I have no clue why Abugida let you to violate its forum decorum? Just because Abugida is committed for the promotion of democratic ideals does not mean you have to abuse this privilege. Please TPLF investors stop crying. If you are really concer4ned you need to be busy on reforming the TPLF torcher chamber, her court system, and end her killing spree. That is where you need to be busy.It is not the Arebengiouch G-7 that is looting our resources, killing and dividing Ethiopians. Beside it is not just Arebengiouch G-7 that TPLF is dealing with.TPDM has over twenty thousand man under arms yet the TPLF supporters such as the writer of this article and Shashitu Dingo are crying about Arebengiouch and G-7.As the well known saying goes “YEWENDEMUN BUDANET WENDMU YAWEKEWAY”.TPLF cadres you are caught red handed! Investor cadres you are exposed!

Ctd. from #17, once Ethiopian Nationalism is reinstated through a peaceful resistance under and the national goals with strategies to achieve those goals and the constitution is ratified with respect to the flag Article 2, Article 46, ethnic federalism, article 39 (1), ethnic secessionism, Article 8, the sovereignty of Ethiopia and individual freedom, liberty and equality Article 10? to super cede ethnic and secessionist rights, where the individual, but not the ethnic groups are the basis for democracy, determining party alignments along the national agenda rather than ethnic agenda in favor of democratic rule than ethnic rule, minority now and majority in the future, as the trend is now in OPDO/EFDF/Medrek/fdre that does not embrace the national agenda as the # four requirement to be met to unseat the TPLF/eprdf regime of ex-liberation fronts, which stood for oppression of nations and nationalities by the previous regime and Monarchy, a Monarchy that has been deposed by the Derg and the EPRP and others of the student movements for class struggle and workers rights to replace the Monarchy and later the Derg Military Dictatorship with people but not ethnic-oriented system of government, embracing Ethiopian Nationalism with goals I believe for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians with strategies to achieve those goals in a non-violent uprising for economic and political freedom from the TPLF/eprdf regime, where TPLF is polit burro ruling the country and eprdf in in small caps, represent the two tiers teletafi parties, supported by security forces, federal police forces and the Military forces along with “Killil” administrators, implementing anti-terrorist law against political dissenters and reneging on press freedom and peaceful protest followed by incarceration without due process and in the absence of independent branches of government to administer fair trial and independent election board to administer fair and free election.

The patriotic Ethiopian concern is legitimate, but not for a reason he believes it to be. The Ethiopian opposition alliance with the president of Eritrea to dethrone EPDRF from power, well, was a short-sighted idea. But the issue should not be of their having honeymoon. In fact, that is beside the point. The real question is it sane to fathom armed struggle nowadays to unseat a sitting government? I think it is insane. It is out of fashion. Armed struggle used to drive colonialists out of the third world countries successfully. It had popular support. The enemy was clearly marked: the colonialists. Socialists used in some countries to form a socialist government using armed struggle. Even then the colonialists angle of politics play a role. China mobilized the peasants against the Japan colonialists. Vietnam against the French colonialists, later the American interventionists. In all the struggle I mentioned the “we” versus “them” was clearly mapped out. Well, let us bring the armed struggle issue to Ethiopian politics. In the armed struggle who would be “us” and who would be “them.” Do not tell me All Ethiopians are on “US” side and government is “them.” That is laughable. If the “We” versus “Them” is not well established, the armed struggle will be a civil war. Think about it.

You are hilarious of a sort. Now you want to rewrite the history of apartheid in a way that pleases the white race. TBut first thing first. Take this trumpet blowing of isayas being a dicattor to mars. Evene USA is a dictator. I know besides trying hard to prove your point of being eloquent ïn English, you are also hoping – quite dearly – your persistent dancing to the tune of woyane gets noticed by the powers that be with all the rewards wished for. WahHHH! Your argument about liberation fronts not being “successful” is crude and naive. It just shows that you can bend truth to suit your warped attitude. According to you all the struggle against the aprtheid regime in south africa was fruitless and it was the good will of the white racists that brought apartheid to its end. I will not be surprised if tomorrow you dance with botha and the ex-co-buthchers of south africa and offer yourself to rewrite the history of aparthjeid at a price of… i do not know how much.

    The nameless patriot wrote,

“What can be expected to happen .. regarding Ethiopians who are working with Shabia against the TPLF regime? A likely ..scenario could be that after Shabia becomes comfortable controlling as many Ethiopians as possible who oppose the TPLF, a fake negotiation will be introduced between the two regimes to exchange anti-TPLF Ethiopians from Eritrea for something that Shabia wants from the TPLF. .. [SUCH AS] the abdication of Badem to Shabia by the TPLF. In this way, all Ethiopians in Eritrea opposing TPLF will be transferred to Ethiopia and fall in the hands of TPLF. It is not rocket science to predict what will then happen to these patriotic Ethiopians and to the struggle.[THEN HE ASKED]What can possibly be done to prevent this gloomy situation going on currently?”.

The prognosis you made regarding current events is based on rumors, gossip bites and lacks verifiable data and facts. You may have a right to view things as you do but I don’t share your view. Your conclusion is made out of thin air and is based on your own habit of circular reasoning. Hence, the gloomy condition you are referring is perhaps the condition of your own mind. You said the relationship of Ethiopian based opposition organizations with Eretria will result in the abduction of Badame by TPLF to Eretria. Abduction of Badame what is that? Are you sure that TPLF has not abducted your own soul?

The Ethiopians have sovereign rights to ask support from any place in the world. The USA, EU and the UK are financially, morally and militarly supporting the bloody tplf/woyane to eradicate the Ethiopians from the earth. To get rid of the bloody tplf/woyane, the people of Ethiopia could ask support even from IS, Al Queda or Al Shaba.

Remember the genocide, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Do not forget the hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians languishing in jails with aids of the USA, UK and EU.

Ctd from #22 Shashitu dingo’s response @#5 stands on its own as separate article about the seminar conducted by ESAT, I presume on “Eritrean-Ethiopian Relations”, has nothing to with comments related to the article entitled “Ethiopia opposition seeking help from Shabia: a mistake with a risk of disastrous outcomes”.

Skipping on the former, let me comment on the latter. It is an established fact that Ginbot 7 is originally a coalition stemming from AFD1, now having formed a new coalition of AFD2 as Ginbot 7 + OLF etc., which is a coalition with ethnic factions in tact, of the disgruntled ethnic secessionists, that could mange to rule as teletafi parties, which fought against oppression of nations and nationalities within the TPLF/eprdf regime. My contention all along about Medrek in the peaceful struggle and Ginbot 7 + OLF etc. is nothing but a coalition/alliance, but not a merger under Ethiopian Nationalism with the goals for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, where the last item refers to individual freedom, liberty and equality to exceed ethnic and secessionist rights for true democracy to set foot in Ethiopia, where the silent majority put a government in place that rules by the consent of the governed, by ratifying the constitution with the individual as front and center of the constitution, but not ethnic groups with prevalence of minority ethnic group now and a majority ethnic group later, which has failed to capture even one seat in the 2007 election, where original intent may have produced a bicameral chamber of parliament with OPDO/Medrek/EFDF/fdre on one side and TPLF/erdf on the other with ethnic rather than national agenda with perhaps no legislative power and non-independent branches of Government and anti-terrorism Law in tact. Dejavu all over again, with no sight of overcoming the perpetration of human right, economic, political and environmental crises perpetrated by the TPLF/epedf regime, supported by the Security, federal police and Military forces and Kilil administrators. So, I believe, all the opposition forces armed or peace full struggle need to coalesce around the goals for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, with strategies to achie those goals in a consortium to put ones house in order before engaging in armed struggle with TPLF/eprdf regime regime as a host to TPLDM and ArbenochGinbot 7 from which to launch the offensive against the TPLF/eprdf regime. Even adopting that scenario, the probability of achieving the above mentioned goals is 50%, I presume. Without adopting the national agenda by all opposition parties and armed factions to regain Ethiopian Nationalism, the probability is even far less and perhaps disastrous as the author indicated, if the EPLF/regime is directly involved in combat operation as the case was with EPLF escorting into Ethiopia to set up ethnic federalism, secessionism, totalitarianism and lately state capitalism to jointly exploit the silent majority of Ethiopians, while maintaining secessionist up to independence status, with the annexation of the port/pots.

    You wrote,

“The real question is it sane to fathom armed struggle nowadays to unseat a sitting government? I think it is insane. It is out of fashion.”
You seem to think the enemy of Ethiopian public is obscure and unmarked and the task of removing TPLF would be insane and perhaps a daunting task. The fact of the matter is the long span of human events and history and the greater portion of humanity has traversed the path of strife and WARFARE. Under normal circumstances, it is true, warfare need not be used as primary tool to settle differences. Yet, so long, there exist tyrants and despots in any nation who terrorize their subjects, by striping the latter of their God given right the oppressed have every right to defend their dignity . Wherever there is oppression and maltreatment of citizens, there also naturally exists a well defined demarcation between those who use power to inflict damage upon their victims-the ruling elite-and the oppressed or the ruled. Your assertion armed struggle is “out of fashion” is laughable. To begin with Armed struggle has never been used by people as something of a kind of fad rather its objective often has been to remove brute forces off the back of the oppressed.

Frederic Douglass, who have had first hand experience of slavery, and its cruel oppression and consciously devised a means to end his dehumanization speaks something relevant to the issue at hand.

“No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck.”

“Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without plowing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning… The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”
Off course for some of us who happen to live in a society where our rights are respected ,the notion of securing freedom through armed struggle can be seen as academic exercise. Bear in mind, these rights we enjoy are bought with heavy by the generation that has long gone: as there is no freedom with out sacrifice. Oppressed people have no luxury to spend their time in the internet chat room politics. They have much pressing need to attend, and secure their freedom. All men are not cut in the same fashion this task is not for cowards, it is reserved only for those who are determined to mold their destiny.

I wish you did not presume that I belong to this group or that just because I am very independent of any belonging. But I can tell you this. If you are one of those TPLF loud mouths who try to make me go away, I guarantee you that you will fail and fail miserably. If you are one them and trying here to be noticed, then it figures!!! On the other hand, if you are one of those Al-Toweel’s brainwashed foot soldiers, that all figures. You guys and along your hoodlum leader have an experience of more than 40 years of character assassination. That was what you were doing during your days in the bushes. You character-assassinate the person you want to shut up and then physically eliminate him. I heard all that in the 1970’s from those who were lucky enough to escape Al-Toweel’s hideous plot. That is what the first lesson he taught the likes of Meles, Sebhats and Tsehayes in all who are riding on the backs of 100 millions for more than 24 years and counting. Go ahead and go on making a fool out of yourself by calling me a pro-west this and that. Each time you call me a pro-America that is a badge of honor for me. Now, if you are one those lost souls who crossed the border into Asmara to seek for military and other assistance from Isaias, I am 100% percent sure that he had you sign an agreement or two before any assistance. And I am asking to post every such agreement you have with him on this esteemed website today, not tomorrow or next month but now. What do you to have to hide? Post them all now!!!! Otherwise, you are not worth it!!!! Out of my sight!!!!

    Answers for your question:
Do you know African National Congress (ANC)? Are you saying ANC did not fight the apartheid system?
One of OAU mission was to support African liberation fronts. OAU helped African political organisations who were fighting against colonialism financially, diplomatically and by providing training and giving recognitions.

CT from #29: The leaderships in EPLF/Eritrea and TPLF/eprdf regime in Ethiopia do not represent the silent majority of Eritreans and Ethiopians, respectively, where there is dictatorship in the former and ethnic dictatorship in the latter of minority ethnic group now and majority ethnic group in the future where the regime and the opposition party OPDO/Medrek/EFDF/fdre are both based on ethnic agenda rather than the national agenda for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians, where the last item refers to individual rights to exceed ethnic and secessionist rights, where democracy as a rule by the people, for the people and of the people is masked by ethnic rule unless the constitution is ratified towards people-oriented rather ethnic oriented government that rule by the consent of the governed with parties aligned along the national agenda rather than ethnic agenda to advance and Ethiopia as a one nation state of federated states of the original provinces including Eritrea, to nullify conflicts over the ports and conflicts over the border as a one nation state of federated provinces with assorted ethnic groups but not as multi-national states with consociational democracy as a redress of ethnic federalism, secessionism, and totalitarianism and/state capitalism with the current constitution in tact.

TPLF is the politburo of the political model of TPLF/eprdf regime, where eprdf in small caps represent the coalition of the teletafi parties, with the ideologies of ethnic federalism, secessionism and totalitarianism and/or state capitalism, with the opposition party OPDO/EFDF/Medrek is the coalition of the loyalist opposition parties both aligned along ethnic agenda, has nothing in its power but the constitution and the derived anti-terrorist law and reneging on press freedom and unprecedented off imbalance among the branches of the government and non-independent, for the implementation of fair trial, and fair and free election process, respectively, is in direct contrast to the ideology of Ethiopian Nationalism with the goals for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. The above parameters sets the confrontations for the last 24 years as being between the two ideologies of positive and negative forces of integration and disintegration, respectively, where the former leans to individual freedom (political and economic) and the latter is inclined to ethnic and secessionist rights as the basic unit of contention stipulated in the constitution, which are mutually exclusive. Whereas if the individual rights is respected the ethnic rights follow but not vice versa in a democracy, a rule by the people for the people and of the people, while languages and cultures are promoted and developed in a multi ethnic society of a one nation state, economic and human developments are conducted by ecological regions, since the societies in those regions are the products of their environment and their genetic make up, with no dominance of one or another ethnic group as per the constitution of individual liberty, freedom and the persuit of happiness.
That scenario is only evident in the ratification of the constitution and forming a federated states of original provinces of assorted ethnic groups, free of ethnic and secessionist politics and or polies built into the constitution.
