The delegation comprises of Kinijit Vice President Birtukan Medeksa and Dr. Hailu Araya Public Relations left for Upstate New York after attending Boston fund raising night.
The delegation were greeted by warm smiling faces and a poster reading “Welcome our leaders” at the Airport. It was a fantastic experience took place for many Ethiopian who fought hard for their leaders’ release. Also, at Fund-raising event; they were cheered on by enthusiastic supporters.
Upstate New York Kinijit support group had a successful fundraising event, over ten thousand dollars has been raised according to the event organizers. The delegation took this opportunity to express its deep appreciation and gratitude to Ethiopians in Upstate New York who have worked and prayed for their release since their imprisonment. They also informed their supporters about current political condition in Ethiopia. Also, noted several problems involving fundamental democratic principles and political participation that cause grave concerns about the prospects for a credible and transparent transition to democratic rule. This successful fund-raising event is a direct result of the many Ethiopians who volunteer their time and talent. Profits generated from these events go directly into Kinijit programs in Ethiopia.
It was a night to remember as our community came together enjoyed the evening with Kinijit delegation, while the evening had a serious purpose; it also had a lot of fun.
The members and friends of Kinijit Upstate New York support group wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to all individuals and families who have contributed to fundraising night and made the event a success.
