THE AFRICAN COMMUNITY PLANS TO CELEBRATE A COLORFUL PARADE
“Displaying Unity in Diversity”

On Sunday November 4th, 2007 the African community who reside in the Los Angeles area are coming together to celebrate “Unity in Diversity” through a colorful parade. This parade is designed to display the rich culture of the continent of Africa through music, arts & crafts and food. The goal is to promote positive image of the continent.

Africans take pride in their rich African heritage. Through this event and many more the community can gain social, political and economic recognition. This is an opportunity for people to know that Africa offers rich culture, an array of business opportunities, hospitality, and lots of love. Confirmed guests include:

• State Assembly Majority Leader Karen Bass
• Tenth District Councilman Herb Wesson
• City of Carson Councilman Mike Gipson
• President of the Consulate General, Belize Ambassador Roy G. Young
• Producer and Director Niegest Likke
• Honorable Nate Holden
• Congresswomen Laura Richardson
• California State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas

The Parade is scheduled to take place on November 4, 2007 at 11:a.m. The Parade will start at Pico Blvd. (corner of Fairfax) and ends on Fairfax Avenue., Colorful floats representing different African Countries, Elephants, African Cultural Dancers, Church Choirs, school marching band, Caribbean Marching Group and many more. The Parade is organized by Ethiopian American Chamber of Commerce in Collaboration with African Leadership council and African Focus and the Little Ethiopia Business Association.
