Oct 16 (EMF) - 40 government journalists have been fired over the last two months for not accepting orders from Ethiopian authorities to misinform the public, EMF sources said. “The only reason we have been fired from our jobs is that we have resisted the orders of the authorities to break ethical standards of journalism,” says one of the journalists who is fired last week on condition of anonymity. Three more government journalists have also reportedly escaped over the last two weeks to avoid harassments, bringing the total defected journalists to 20 in the past month.
