    Good Job ABUGIDA!!

Ethiopia belongs to all of us and we know it is a multicultural and multiethnic nation. We need to respect to each other. “Rome is not built in one day”. Lets give chance for tolerance and mutual appreciation so that as united people we can win over tyrrany and poverty. Lets learn from our past and lay the foundation for consolidated Ethiopia for the generation to come.

So, Brother Ababya, you are right we need to be more concerned to all members of that nation, but is it feasible to address the demands of all at a time. Yes, incrementally, we shall build a stong, democratic Ethiopia through our unreserved efforts.

I enjoy your program it is not simple that you guys are doing in foreign land for the rest of us to feel home. your program to day was nice as usual but how much we blame meles and his govt. nothing will hapen for our people. please why you guys try to organize volutiers first to help those people. Instead of always blame the govt. let us try to help the hungry to day. Most of us knows where starbucks coffee is how much it cost us a day but with half price a day of that we can save life. Please on you next program it doesn’t mean next week but soon announce what we have to do in our own(Ethiopian for Ethiopian) instead of blaming. Infact your news is best on truth, if the govt. don’t want to do it, do we have to blame the govt. and solve the problem i think the answer is no. lets do some thing.

I was born and raised in Addis around Arat kilo. Growing as a Tigrean kid in the early 80s Ethiopian calander was terrible due to all the name calling. One day a had a fight in a school with classmate because this boy called me “Tigre” then I kicked the shit out of him. This little boy was bleeding to death when our teacher saw this bleedig little boy he sent me home to bring my parent. When I got home, my beloved, mom asked me why I came early ,and I told her I got into a fight and she asked me why? I told her this little boy called me “Tigre” I remember as if it happened yesterday the look in my mom face and she paused…and pulled me to sit next to her ,and looked straight into my eyes and asked me, Are you Amhara? I said ,no! Are you Gala( I am sorry this was the word every one used during those days not Oromo I can assure you my mom did not mean it in any other way other than refering to the ethnic oromo) I said,no! Then she asked if I am Guragea ,and I said ,no! Finally, she asked me then what are you? I said it myself I am a Tigrean! And she made me repeat “I am a Tigrean” many times. From that day on thanks to my beloved mom I declared and enjoyed being and living as a Tigrean. Things happen for a reason so friends dont be offended when these people play only Amharic Music. But fight only when they try to take away who you are. You can take out people from ghetto but you can never take the ghetto out them. The best example will be Tamagne, look at him, he lives in America but he still think and act like typical low life citizen. So who cares if they play Amharic music every year or everyday ,but fight back real good like woyane if they try to impose their norm on yours.

    Long live Lekatit 11 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I follow most of your programms. I can say some thing about your show in general. This specific show(Feb.15)sounds good. But over all you lean towards blaming the governments(the current Ethiopian government, EPRDF. If there are things to apprereciate, better to give credits for those in power. Regarding the multi-ethinicity of Ethiopia, sure Ethiopia is a multi-national country and you have take this in to consideration when your preparre yoour programs.I mean not only on music: Your programs, be it an interview, music, comedy should cover the whole part(nations) as much as possible. Overall, your work is good. Keep it up.

Surprised Tigist Shibabaw passing hasn’t been widely discussed. Being GIGI’s sister and a musician as well, I wonder if her death is somehow related to her deportation to Ethiopia and lack of family support in her bad times. Might she found unable to overcome her feeling of failure after 8 years in New York and deported to Ethiopia. I hear tidbits that GIGI is estranged from her family, might the same be true of Tigist. Its sad whatever her demon, it took her life away. Unfortunate her support whether friends or family either didn’t know her situation or were unsuccessful. I think the thought of suicide might be a common occurrence in moments of brief or long depression.

    Hi Abogidawoch,
I like what you are doing. But could you please edit what you broadcast before hand? Every time I listen a number of grammatical as well as vocabulary mistakes in your speeches. Most likely Amharic is your mother tongue. If not, give it to editor. This is media. BE cautious of your words.
