Kinijit North America PR committee is proud to announce that the June 14 2008 General Assembly of UDJP will be broadcasted live for all its supporters and Ethiopians at large living abroad. Kinijit North America PR committee has reportedly finalized its preparation and coordinated with Kinijit Canada and Europe. Major media outlets like Pal Talk rooms and radio stations are among the participants on the live transmission. UDJP, in the mean time, is finalizing its preparation for the significant and historic meeting. The latest from the organizing committee reveals that the number of participants is 380, including the 30 others who were not invited first but the committee decided they should be included. 70 Dignitaries, Honoraries and Special Guests will attend the meeting at an observatory level.

The organizing committee just released the statistics of the participant members. Accordingly, 54 of the participants are women and 296 are men. 36 of the participants are from members of the Central Committee and 26 are members of the Parliament. From the regions, there will be 99 from Addis Ababa 10 zones and 28 woreda’s, 66 from Amhara region 9 zones and 40 wereda’s, 60 from Southern Nations region 14 zones and 32 woreda’s, 57 from Oromia 11 Zones and 37 woreda’s, 4 from Afar region, 2 from Somalia and 1 from Harar. The meeting will take place in Addis Ababa, at the Imperial Hotel. Accommodations and transportation for all the participants have been prepared. They are expected to arrive in the capital in the days to come.

At the end of the meeting, UDJP will be formally established. Other milestone decisions of the meeting will be endorsing the Draft Program and By Law after deliberating on a thorough discussion; Establishing the various bodies of the Party including the National Council and Executive Committee; and Electing various members and Officials for respective positions and offices. The National Council will have 60 members and 15 alternate members. Out of those 18 will be elected for positions in the Executive Committee. UDJP will have a Chairperson, four Vice Chairs and a General Secretary.
