NEB is the most independent and democratic institution that Ethiopians cherish. The EPDRF showed the world that it is democratic. Mesfin w/m is right to say the EPDRF is the first government in Ethiopia to introduce and nurture democracy.

Now we will see how the UDJ group will react and accept the democratic institution of Ethiopia and the Government of Meles Zenawi.

We hope they will take their sit in parlamient with what ever sit they win in the next general election.

If they abuse the privelage and the right given to them, then they should be all sent to prison for life.

UDJP is doom to fail from the start. What UDJP wants to bring back is “the Christian Desset Ethiopia” and to bring the Atse Befekadu or Empress Burtukan rule. Dream on…

    Never again!!!!!

Well, it is good to hear that UDJP got approved registration from NEBE, and also i am appreciated the leaders of UDJP for their effort to come to this point, though for me this way of struggle is insurmountable , because as we know woyane is one of dangerous terriorist group in east africa, which coudn’t understand peaceful struggle. Well, if we need peaceful struggle, i think all the party should work together to bring demcracy and create prosperity country in africa. so that, with a bunch of intimidation and kiling, i think the next election wouldn’t be successful, so considering to that all ethiopian parties, intellectuals, and so on should work together by any means to get rid of woyane(agazi)

I admire the efforts and patience of the leaders and members of UDJ to obtain thier legal in a name but still a non legal certificate from the meles seytanaiw appointed election board.

However, as long as the first 8 points of former kinijit principle doesnt hold, there is going to be a waste of life, time and energy by the UDJ leaders.

when weyane satisfies the 8 major points of former kinijit, I would pay anything to involve in the peaceful struggle…otherwise it is again another game to attract the donor governments in the name of election…

So I urge everyone to comedown since this is like nothing compare how much should be done by the oppotions. Never the less it is not the work of UDJ leaders only …it is the work of all ethiopians to bring down the meles KELEDEGNA( FUNNY) regime….

I still garantee you that weyane gangesters are not ready to give up power using fair and democratic election,….it they were I would be so glad as well…

Since I lost many things during the past 2005 fake weyane election, i would find another alternative befoer i complietely loose my last energy….

The game is YABERASHIN TEBASA YAYE BE ESAT AYCHAWETIM…..no more game with weyane in the name of fake election that would bring another big damge to the ethiopian people…..

Death to weyane members and supporeters!!!

This is the right step in the right direction. It should be welcomed by all as a positive development. The achievement of such a certificate lending legality to UDJP is the result of much patience and hard work on the part of the leaders of the party. It is not at all a gift of the regime and it is not offered from the purest of motives either.
As much as the ruling party knows this,so does UDJP.

As far as the latter’s fate is concerned,
however, the certificate is an auspicious one.

Now,the Meles regime is confronted with a pan-Ethiopian non-violent democratic movement but not the kind that it knows how to manage. This one is nurtured by people’s recent memory of MAY 2005(snatched)victory at the polls, the experience of years of repression at the hands of a regime for whom such method is the one that is best known, their dire impoverishment,
    starvation and now famine.

Yet the road ahead is a difficult terrain and it must be taken with prudence, higher
    organization,creative thinking and broader representation.

In terms of the latter in particular,UDJP should challenge itself to enhance the representation of women, highly marginalized ethnic and religious groups both at the leadership and rank and file levels.

On the other hand, the Diaspora should assist UDJP meet the challenges better by contributing novel strategic and organizational
ideas in addition to much needed finance

UDJP is presided by leaders who have discovered the power of non-violent movement and more significantly’the dignity of straightening their shoulders’to fearlessly speak truth to power on behalf of their people. We should not wait and see what they can do.We should rather join them and make it happen!

It is like pre-2005 mode of opranda, to seemingly have a multipaty participation of election, with teletafi parties mute and dum, inactive, with loyalist opposition powerless and a preponderence of one party psuedo democracy to maintain stability at the gun point to satisfy the western donor countries. Dejavu, all over again.

    Dear Abay.T

Take it easy!No need for your kind of rage. You can calmly debate ideas with out hurling insults at others and denouncing them.I for one say that EPRDF must go.Am I not entitled to such an opinion? What is so wrong having a political opinion of any kind? You may not like my opinion.I could be right or wrong. But that is not the point. The real point is that you have your freedom to hold your views just the way I can entertain mine with out any coercion. The validity of our respective positions are judged by the people. There are such things called popular mandate, referendum and election to do exactly that and the people can then arbiter or decide whether I am wrong or right.I,like many others,am simply saying ‘let us play a fair political game and let the people decide’.What is wrong with that,my friend Abay?

I believe those of us with clear understanding of the crises that has evolved over 17 years today speak as Ethiopians, because that Ethiopia we know is in the process of disintegration. Just as one of the speakers on behalf in the celebration of UDJP certification spoke in parable of the old Kinijit being under the same tent. If one of the chikens comes out of the tent it is likly to be attacked by a prey,I paraphrase. These ideas come from those Ethiopians with true concern for unity among ethnic groups to attain their freedom, not a bunch of dissident group forming a loalist party.

No body talked ill of tigrai as an ethnic group, the victims under whom a group of people perform their atrocities, not to say all the resources from the rest of the country are moblized to buid tigrai.

Think about the previous statement made about the condition that UDJP is now and talk to me around 2010. What is their strategy for peacefull strugle. None. Zilch.

Superbly brilliant historical achievement for all those Ethiopians craving for democracy, prospwerity and the rule of law in a united Ethiopia in cultural diversity.

I salute the heroes and heroine founding members of UDJP and once again pledge my unswerving support for this unique party- the first to be formed in our homeland with a political program for peaceful change.

    Congratulations UDJs,,,
You have completed the first step and you have to work hard to be best alternative…
You have to be careful on the next step.Getting the certificate might be an EPRDF trap to silent people who are advocating all-types of struggle,,,,
Do not waste time now and move around the country and recurite supporter…

GO UDJ Go UDJ Be our hope
Be our light Be our peace
    Yes to UDJ, No weyane
    No more cry,No U-turn
    Be stong, be prepared
    And Lead our nation…
    Congratulations..

The Change that was advocated during the last Press Release by Ato AKLOUG of KNA that their aim is durable democracy, but no change of the then escorting the K-5 tour,I paraphrase.

Smart, self-serving and deceiving the diaspora and weakieninig the Kinijit spirit to some extent, but not brilliant and heroic; quite to the contrary. Until the diaspora comes to the realization, what the K-5 and their entourage did to splinter Kinijit because of their individual aspirations, and appologize and collaborate, and form their own distictley different party different party, nothing substantial progress will be achieved for the Ethiopians. If that was not the case why did Dr. Berhanu Nega split from K-5 and formed Ginbot 7, to which W/t Birtukan Mideksa rejected their form of struggle.

Frankly I don’t understand what is the big deal about receiving official certificate to be playing the game by the rule of Weyanee ! Face it , you might get a job with Weyanee but you will never bring justice or change for the people of Ethiopia. All ones want to do is kiss the master ass ,well they are on the right truck. All them killing was not necessary if ones at the end want to give up and betray the people and the nation. Well I have no hope with organization or any other organization that think change is possible with peace full means. We have dreamt so long ,it is about time we face the music.

I cant imagine most of you seem very exicted for unexited news. It didnt say UDJ took power from weyane….getting a fake certificate means nothing….

take election 2005 what happened even kinijit has gained more vote…just nothing but weyane has killed many civilians and still killing many others and jailed tousands of supporters of kinijit along with the leaders….

I wouldnt get surprised at this moment since UDJ has a lot more to acquire the people ambition….but to me if you are satisfied by this news either you are moron and dont have no clue about the nature of Weyane criminal group or you are weyane sympetizer to get an attention of the public to UDJ…

at this point the best party is Ginbot 7…..
