Deliberate mistake?

December 21st, 2006 Print Print Email Email

The EPRDF Embassy in Washington DC clearly states on its website that the nationality of the EPRDF-proclaimed president of Ethiopia, Girma Wolde-Giorgis is Oromo. They have been notified about this problem several times. However, they refused to correct it. Is this a Deliberate mistake? Please check it out on their website.

You are the ones who are making the mistake. The president is indeed an Oromo. This does not have to be a big deal at all. You are falling into the trap of EPRDF. The president was deliberately chosen to become the president of Ethiopia for his old age, his known record of opportunism and lack of principled stand on critical issues. He has served under the Monarchy, the Dergue and Woyane governments. Under the Dergue, he used to serve as the representative of the Red Cross in Asmara, Eritrea. It does not matter what ethnic group he hails from. He is an Ethiopian and that is what matters. Abugida should desist from making such mistakes. Do your research before you fall into such mistakes.

You seem to miss the point. Nationality does not equal to one’s tribe. His nationality should be “Ethiopian” if he is the president of Ethiopia.
