Ethiopians joined the march

Several of Ethiopians who reside in Atlanta joined the huge rally today that was held in downtown to celebrate American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

It’s estimated that close to 100,000 people have participated in the rally.

Among the featured speaker were representatives of Ethiopian human rights and political groups, including chairman of Kinijit International Leadership, Dr Moges Gebremariam; the exiled president of the Ethiopian Free Press Association, Ato Kifle Mulat, and Ato Obang Metho, Executive Director of the Anuak Justice Council.

Ato Kifle Mulat chained his hands as he marched, to highlight the suffering of his fellow journalists who are languishing in Meles Zenawi’s jails back home.

As the march proceeded towards the Martin Luther King Center, the hundreds of Ethiopian flags carried by the marchers who took the lead made it look like an Ethiopian rally.
