MOGADISHU, Somalia, Jan. 17 (UPI) – Ethiopian troops have begun to withdraw from some areas in southern Somalia according to a published report in a Somaliland newspaper.aatuf, a Somali-language daily based in Hargeysa, the capital of the self-declared Republic of Somaliland, said in its Jan. 17 edition that Ethiopian troops are pulling out of the Jubba regions and some districts in southwestern Somalia, the BBC reports.

The newspaper said the “unexpected” Ethiopian troop pullout came on the heels of a brief visit by Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi to Kenya on Tuesday.

This report has not yet been confirmed by any other news Somali source.

The report also said transitional President Abdullahi Yusuf left Mogadishu on Tuesday for Addis Ababa where he is slated to meet Meles to discuss the urgent deployment of an African peacekeeping force. Somali Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi already told the parliament troops from at least five countries would arrive within two weeks, but only Uganda has so far committed peacekeepers.

Ethiopian forces ousted Islamist militia Dec. 28 from the capital of Mogadishu, although sporadic fighting has continued. The Islamists have vowed to keep up their guerilla war until Ethiopian forces leave.

Somalia has not had a stable central governemnt since 1991, when warlords overthrew leader Mohammad Siad Barre and plunged the country into anarchy.

That is happening after Meles kiss Kadhafi’s ass. He kills innocent Ethiopian children and jailed peaful oppostion party leaders and kiss Kadhafi’s ass. Everbody knows who Kadhafi is obviously now Meles is afried of him. Take a look at the following aricle.

Meles Zenawi hails Kadhafi`s peace efforts in Somalia

Tripoli, Libya, 01/17 – Ethiopian Premier Meles Zenawi has commended Libyan leader Mouammar Kadhafi for his sustained efforts towards peace, political and social reconciliation in Africa, and particularly in Somalia.

This was expressed Tuesday in Tripoli by visiting Ethiopian foreign minister Seyoum Mesfin, during a meeting with his Libyan counterpart Abderrahmane Chalgham to whom he handed a message from Zenawi to Col Kadhafi.

Mesfin said the Ethiopian prime minister and people had great respect for the Libyan leader for the efforts he has deployed to reinforce unity and stability in the African continent.

During the meeting, Mesfin reaffirmed his country`s willingness to withdraw its forces from Somalia as quickly as possible, noting that Ethiopia intends to withdraw its troops in weeks but would like to leave behind a state of national reconciliation and to help Somalis rebuild their country.(More…)

“Mesfin said the Ethiopian prime minister and people had great respect for the Libyan leader for the efforts he has deployed to reinforce unity and stability in the African continent.”

Isn’t funny? They are killing innocent Ethiopians, they jailed the beloved and best of Ethiopian children, the CUD leaders and they admire the one who really doesn’t deserve the admiration. I am a proud Ethiopian. I don’t think Kadhafi is particularly a nice guy. He is one a heal of a dictator. When Seyoum Mesfin say that the Ethiopian people have a lot of respect for Kadhafi, that was a pure lie. Basickly, he is kissing Kadhafi’s ass. That is shame.
Hey, Seyoum if you or one of your spiys read this, I have an advise for you. Respect yourself and your people first. Otherwise, you will have aweak side all the time and bad guys such as Kadhafi run you around.
