After opining on my love for Ethiopian food recently, my little blog was flagged by the folks over at the Travel Channel, who wanted to let me know that if I love Ethiopian food so much, I ought to check out their show, “Bizarre Foods,” which airs tonight at 10.

Host Andrew Zimmern heads to — where else? — Ethiopia, for some hands-on eating.

Having watched a short clip of tonight’s episode, he also appears to get REALLY up close and personal with some hyenas. Yikes.

The show’s Web site is pretty cool, and has slideshows of Zimmern’s trips, and yes, his own blog. It also contains recipes of some of the stranger things he’s eaten: chicken feet, nutria (squirrel) gumbo, and veal tongue for starters. He’s also, apparently, eaten bugs and larvae. You know, I’ve said I’ll try anything at least twice, but this guy really puts me to shame.

Anyway, the show looks pretty intriguing and I plan on DVR-ing it tonight. If you watch it, let me know what you think.

Andrew Zimmern heads to Africa! Watch the “Bizarre Foods” Ethiopia episode, on Tuesday night, at 10 ET.
