I have the great pleasure to bring to your kind attention that an Ethiopian by the name of Ms. Senedu Araya-Sellassie has been granted the very prestigious award of the Legion d’Honneur by the French government. This award is a source of pride for all Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia. Please see attached the letter written to her by the French Embassy in Addis. The event for the award ceremony is scheduled to take place next month at the French Embassy.

Ms. Senedu was granted the award for her tremendous achievement in support of poor mothers and children in Ethiopia. For more detail about the organization she founded using her own home, please visit her website: www.visiononafrica.org.

I do hope you will find it appropriate to publicize the award as it is an exemplary achievement by an Ethiopian dedicated to the alleviation of poverty in Ethiopia. I also hope that your support will result in mobilizing financial resources for Vision on Africa (VoA) as well as in motivating other Ethiopians to follow her example.
