Ethiopians living in the UK, London held a massive demonstration in Parliament Square condemning the re-arrest of Ms Birtukan Mideksa, the illegal imprisonment of Tedi Afro, the illegal arrest of Bekele Jirata & for other thousands of prisoners of Conscience who are languishing in Meles’ notorious Kaliti and other pest & pet infested prisons.

Petition and appeal letters have been handed in to the authorities in the the Parliament House. The picture tells it all about the event.

In addition to the Ethiopian demonstrators, there were British who have taken part in the demonstration & shown solidarity with the Ethiopian protestors. Despite the cold weather and the difficulty of getting time off work, the turn-out was big and has surprised the organisers. The protesters have vowed to continue this type of mass actions along side appealing to the donor community so that they refrain from supporting the tyrannical rule that terrorises a peace-loving population. Some protestors even were sharing the common view that Meles and co are engaged in a cunningly rhetorical dirty campaign that the Diaspora are the culprit for Meles’ and co notorious and murderous actions. Jokingly, the demonstrators, we have spoken to, voiced the view that Meles will never leave power peacefully up until he himself remains on the land alone, if that can happen if the first place.
