In our opinion, the peasants of Ethiopia in particular and peasants in the Horn of Africa are endangered species. At the moment the Horn of Africa is plagued with all sorts of violent conflicts. These conflicts are affecting the peasants of this region tremendously. At the end of the day the conflicts they create does not end up brining and fruits to the peasants of the Horn of Africa. Ethiopia suspended by Fifa – BBC

Football’s world governing body, Fifa, has suspended the Ethiopian Football Federation with immediate effect.

The suspension means that Ethiopia could miss their next 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home to Morocco on the weekend of the 5-7 September. Read more…
